My absolutely most beautiful singer, song stylist I have ever hear in life. No female can touch her. Her father is as a pianist as close but she is still the most complete 🎉excellence. Used to listen to her when I did very difficult surgery . Thanks you, Merci !

One of my most favorite peace’s performed by the female that guided us through the best Steely Dan albums. Carolyn is a genius of perfection😮. ❤️

No, it's Michael Leonhart. Steely Dan is a rock band centered around core members and founders Walter Becker and Donald Fagen. Both Michael, on trumpet, and Carolyn have now been members of the band for the several.

I just wanted to reply to a 12-year-old comment. But I also wanted to point out that this video is 22 years ago, way before she was in Steely Dan.

No. He's Michael Leonhart (brother of carolyn). Steely Dan is the name of the band co-lead by Donald Fagen and Walter Becker.

I think the trumpet man is her HUSBAND!!!!!!! They have fun and get it on after each performance!!!! Both major talents. The trumpet and piano stuff together is very rare. I have not seen this combination before.

Apparently you cannot stop coming back to this clip. This is at least your second "comment". Get over it, they are great musicians and I suspect you are not, you sound frustrated.

The piano sounds like Steely Dan's "Kulee Baba" in parts...

Yea. Eh well. Truth be told I paused at 4:41. This song, Nature Boy I know; a jazz standard. And Annie Haslams' Annie in Wonderland version I have on a hd. It's a good song, but a special song. If interpreted a certain way, it has an implicit meaning. Like say, Waters of March by Suzannah McCorkle. But this attempt (this version) I'm not impressed. The Dexter Gordon/'round Midnight approach (but slower) to start it off? 'playing jazz slowly, or slower..does not make for good or original jazz

you should be building jazz instruments..not analysing performance

Actually when I saw this, prior to playing I was thinking "am I going to be enchanted by Carolyn Leonharts' version?". I mean, why not cover Yes's 'Owner of a Lonely Heart'? It's an odd song, Nature Boy. Like a Khalil Gibran poem. Anyway, my 2 cent comment/suggestion to Carolyn & Hubby: get out of your box. Get out of Heroin Pocket NY. Go to Tel Aviv say. Or South America.
