I've done this and it's amazing. The good thing is that's it's regulated and you are observed by a park ranger of the Mexican government so you don't touch or get in the way of the animals. If I can do it you can too!

Ban single-use plastics! Now! DO NOT use the plastic bags at your supermarket -- bring your own larger and sturdier bags from home.
@SlayerofFiction Жыл бұрын
@@rr7firefly The bulk of plastics come from third world countries, not western. That is not to say we do not have a duty to be vigilant, we do. Most of our plastic however is sent abroad, moreover studies show that sturdy bags create a far larger footprint both in breakdown and making. Mind you I use them, but it simply takes more materials and resources to complete. A good start would be eliminating plastic bottles however, we injest about a credit card amount of plastic each day, that is absurd!

Someone please educate the rest of us on the phenomenon of all those fish swimming around/under that beautiful whale shark. Thank you in advance.
@kwebster62 Жыл бұрын
It's my understanding the fish hang around the large sharks for protection from other predators, and some food. The sharks allow them to hang around as they tend to clean the shark of unhealthy parasites.
@cepaasch Жыл бұрын
I agree with kwebster62, the majority of the small fish hanging out alongside the Whaleshark are there for protection/hiding in plain sight but the big brown bomber alongside the left pectoral was a Cobia. That guy is just along for the ride and waiting for the Whaleshark to scare some food up for him. Cobia are a lot of fun to catch as well as GREAT table fare.

I realize I'm the outlier here and that whale sharks don't attack humans but this footage freaks me out, especially the initial part where it shows the underside. Perhaps I was eaten by a shark in one of my past lives.

In the past, the program would show much longer footage of these nature scenes. This has not been the case for several years. I suspect that for those that are interested, they go online to catch the longer video. Thus, here we are.
@kwebster62 Жыл бұрын
@@arifshahabuddin8888 Yeah, I guess some number-cruncher said those longer nature scenes were costing the network a few hundred thousand in lost ad revenue.

Why r the fish following it? Do they not get scares of being eaten
@arifshahabuddin8888 Жыл бұрын
Whale sharks don't eat fish. They subsist primarily on krill. They are fairly gentle creatures. As others have said, the whale sharks intimidates other animals with their size so these smaller fishes feel protected. Also, they might be removing parasites and cleaning the whale shark.
