@@girsharma2076 The cuckoo does not hatch his own chicks. Cuckoos lay their eggs into other birds nests and let other birds do the breeding job. Not only that, but the cuckoo chick is throwing out the host-birds eggs and chicks, you can see that right in the beginning. And the cuckoo parent as well, sometimes is killing the host birds own offspring too raise the survival chance of his own chick. This also is documented in that clip at 10:08. Cuckoos are a parasitic bird species. But it´s also a beautiful and phascinating bird and in every culture there are sayings and stories about the cuckoo.

It is a parasite. No need to feel anything for it. Do you care for the feelings of ticks and mosquitoes? Cuckoos brood parasitism strategy is very successful. They will not die out easily.

And if enough people do that you will make it worse, as always. I've read somewhere that Cuckoos do this to Magpies and that is because Magpies will overpopulate and crowd out others. Don't have any idea what kind of birds these are but could be similar. Nature is best. Man messes it up unless man caused the behavior it is trying to compensate for.

After the cuckoo chick pushed out the two natural hatchling, the man saved them and placed them into a surrogate nest. The problem was the foster parents ignored them, and the hatchling were either injured or didn't respond to the feeding call because they are too different of species. It is odd the cuckoo tracked them down and killed them specifically.

突然好像了解杜鵑的用意，這樣看來，下蛋的杜鵑會遠盯著自己孩子的成長過程、盯著別人的幼鳥死成！可能杜鵑有這樣的思維，若那幼鳥沒死而活到成年，可能會傳遞新訊息給同類（如小心杜鵑的資訊）而讓鳥界有新的思維！若是這樣杜鵑就很難找到宿主！🤔

杜鵑會盯著直到牠幼鳥長大我那大樓有窩下3個蛋的鳥結果隔天我看第4蛋比較大顏色不一樣孵出就4支有支比較大過幾天剩2支我看到大支踩小支隔天再看小被大踩死了隔週在看那支大支看到我嚇到衝出地欉下我看到另一支成鳥跟牠迎合一起我突然明白原來母鳥在暗中觀查直到杜鵑幼鳥長大

壞鳥會有報應的生命向上修行或向下沉淪雖然是天性但作惡就是作惡之前佛學提到有老鷹開悟絕食致死我以為是故事沒想到之前的確有被養育的老鷹只吃菜的案例雖然極少但也知越沉淪的境界要覺醒有多難在天性之中就讓你難以向善人也有自己不好的根性自己都會知道的。對抗或著隨波全憑自己的意願。

i noticed cuckoo birds habitually frequently check nests and clear out any birds that aren't cuckoo birds like a kinda like some type of population control lest the cuckoo chicks fail to push out the eggs and other nestlings i also notice cuckoos always know when birds leave the nest and when they are likely to return.

It could be their timing but the cuckoo also resemble bird of prey so the smaller parenting bird won't approah while the cuckoo is destroying thier nest. Look at the size of that cuckoo bird , it's huge in comparison.

Clip uploader rescued a chick which had been pushed out of nest by cuckoo chick and put it into another nest. The stepparents accepted it, but hours later the rescued chick was still been killed by revenging mother cuckoo.

little cukoo pushed other little birds out the nest the guy picked them up and relocated to another mother bird's nest. The Cukoo mother found the new nest and killed the little birds. So in short little Cukoo failed to kill other little birds and mother Cukoo finished the job. Strange how mother Cukoo can find them because the guy relocated them 5 kilometers away

Incredible. It looks as if the cuckoo parent observes the progress of its offspring and even intervenes if the own baby does not succeed by its own. This is systemic parasitic behavior. Very interesting.

Does this mean Cuckoo mother does not abandon the baby until it knows the competition is eliminated. Often in these recording you hear the cuckoo in the background and that’s when you notice eggs or chicks are being evicted by the intruder?

Yes - they’re the laziest kind of parent. Lay the egg then have someone else bring it up - but still making sure you can jump in at any moment and be ‘mother of the year’ just because it benefits you some way…. They stay to see that their egg is looked after and fed until they’re of fledgling size. Usually if anything happens before then, the cuckoo will kill the entire nest and sometimes the parent birds too. I actually wondered if the male bird got harmed as there was all that screeching and squawking and then the black and white tail sticking up in the bottom corner of the nest - right as the cuckoo had first heavily landed on the nest and before we saw the cuckoo.

By its nature Cuckoo birds lay their eggs in other birds nest or used other birds nest , and if the cuckoo mother lay its eggs in other birds nest on time of hatching the cuckoo chicks will kill other birds chick by pushing out of the nest or the cuckoo mother return to break or suck other birds egg so that it can only hatch and live it's only offspring. Its cruel by nature..

How would you know it's the mama cuckoo living 5 kilometers away who attacked the original chick in the nest and the rescued one and not another cuckoo who just passed by there? And as you can see it dropped the other chick of the nest's owner birds.

Lol that's how naive you sound, the real answer is there has been documented evidence that cuckoo parents stalk their offspring to see if the host is taking care of the eggs and if they arent it is known by some cuckoo they will infiltrate the nest destroy the clutch in this process for retaliation by that man's action for saving those birds who were saved caused this incident this phenomenon is called mafia predation I recommend you do some research on it it is quite a nice read that bird who attacked is species of cuckoo that alone gives you the "proof" you need.

Its not even lazy, they stalk the nest to make sure their kid ks raised and if they arent they go out of the way to destroy the nest amd their eggs

@@lucylucy2171 Lazy? Maybe. But it's smart as hell. It outsmarts the other birds by getting them to raise their children while they live their own lives. I can't even feel bad for some species that the Cuckoo targets because some mother birds are so dumb that they'll straight up watch their eggs get ejected from the nest and do nothing about it. It's literally survival of the fittest. Other birds like the Robin have evolved to fight off these invaders, but as long as birds like the Tit are dumb enough to keep letting it happen, it will be a successful method.

不明白短片想說甚麼？在00：02把小鳥推出巢，和在10：22攻擊杜鵑鳥巢的大鳥是不同的，身形完全不同，甚麼老杜鵑？

00：02的鳥巢是其他鳥種的巢，因為杜鵑這物種不會築巢孵蛋，老杜鵑一早把自己的蛋寄生在那個巢裡面，而寄生的杜鵑幼鳥出生後會把養母其他親骨肉推出鳥巢殺害，這隻剛好被人救起再放到其他鳥的巢裡，而老杜鵑一直監視著一切，自己孩子沒成功殺掉的小鳥，由牠來尾刀。

造出Terminator Type-Bird，四處巡邏叼回寄生在其他鳥類的杜鵑鳥蛋或雛鳥回巢孵化扶養，這樣不會禍害其他鳥類，杜鵑鳥也能繼續吃有毒蟲子。

以前我也不喜歡杜鵑，不過後來知道牠們會吃大多數鳥類都不吃的害蟲松毛蟲後，有比較釋懷～生態是一環扣一環的，只要牠們不是外來種，存在就是意義啊～

These birds are already widely studied and the behavior is well understood, to the point where other bird species have copied similar behaviors (i.e. cow birds); it's called brood parasitism. I find the behavior extremely repulsive, but that's just me...

most bird species see the male sex having bright, vibrant colors while the females have dull, earthen colors. pea-cock (male) pea-hen (female) is the most obvious example b/c of the differing names.

Very unusual for American or European cuckoo. This behavior is typical of the American cowbird. I guess there is a species in Asia that acts like the American cowbird.
