Thank you Nature Fresh for this! 2020 has been a difficult year for farmers and the general public simply did not understand the struggle. Being a daughter of a local fruit grower I certainly understand the sleepless nights and the many obstacles that COVID-19 brought to the farming community this year. I’ve had to hold back a lot this season as I read the social media comments and overheard the negativity surrounding the foreign workers. It’s refreshing to see and hear the other side of the story so wonderfully told. To anyone reading this comment - please smile or wave at a foreign worker when you see them in town, support our farmers and shop local, and please share this video on social media if you can 🙏🏼

Excellent explanation of how important companies like Nature Fresh are to both the local economy and the security of our food supply. Everything Nature Fresh does is done the right way and it is a shame that our system let them down and caused such massive waste. The community of Leamington and Essex County benefit directly by the support and generosity of this company. Thank you and well done!

Great documentary with a perspective and information the media never provided. I have a new appreciation for the guest workers that help protect our food supply.

It really hits home when you talk about the food deliveries and the food that states are willing to supply. The irony is that your fresh produce was going to waste while they delivered crisps and sugar. A problem in many westernised countries. It's not just about local food security, it's about the mentality higher up. In the UK our fresh produce is used as a gambit between the supermarket chains and has driven prices to such a point where many go out of business. There are lessons to be learned in many areas from the COVID crisis! Great video, I've followed the Leamington/Kingsville greenhouse industry for a long time.

Thank you for making this documentary. It saddens me that so many look down upon the migrant workers and the farms that have them. I've always been of the thought that it doesn't matter where you come from if you treat me with respect you will get the same and the vast majority of those workers have been nothing but respectful of me when I've met them. I have a few friends who've been here now for 20 years who started off in that program and it upsets them when there are some that act out of line but they explain to those who they now supervise that many judge them all on that behaviour and for the most part it works. The thing people have to remember is it doesn't matter if you're born here, an immigrant here or here as one of these workers, there's going to be some that are good and some not so good. It's not good to judge all based on a few that are not the best behaved. This program is a great program that's allowed our food to be grown and bring in money to our economy while helping these workers provide for their own families back home. Those who've lived in agricultural areas know there's lots of work to be done and not enough to help in the work without these workers. There are some in the area that want to and physically can do the work and go do the work. Then there are many who either don't want to because their passion is in another field of work or the ones who just can't physically do the work. There's been so much that's happened with all of this and I highly respect those who do the work! I can't work anymore due to disabilities but know that these workers work their butts off and deserve to be treated with respect for that work. Yes those who mentioned in the video are right that so many are spoiled and don't want to do the work but there are also some who their health would not allow them to do this type of work. As was said the majority of farmers are good and treat their workers good and I have had friends that have worked at Nature Fresh and they do treat their employees well across the board both migrant workers and local workers. I also know friends who have worked in other greenhouses and not had anywhere near the same good treatment at work and that applies both to foreign workers and local workers. With that said that goes with any industry and shouldn't be looked at as only the farmers by any means.

Great presentation of what you went through. I just wish more people would understand how important your workers are to the local food economy. It disgusts me when people treat these workers who often leave their families in other countries and try to earn a better living for their families. For those that complain about having the workers here then I suggest you do their job but those that complain are too soft to this hard work. And it also suggests that they are a better class of people than those working on the farm Great documentary.
