Once their products became available in Target, they had a lot of success. Most people strolling Target make a lot of impulsive purchases and most people don't spend all their time on KZbin. So I don't think consumers forget about the launch drama on KZbin, but rather most consumers never knew about the drama in the first place.

They just recently came out with body washes (available at Target) which I purchased one in April it is a HUGE bottle for like $14 and that sucker is gonna last me like till end of Sept or Oct as you do not need much to clean your body. Highly recommend trying their body washes.

I had no idea about the "launch scandal", but I can understand the trust issue. I consider it a marketing misstep. She's certainly not the first person, and won't be the last. If the products are good, they will speak volumes and the brand will most likely recover if they haven't already. In any case, we need to give everyone in the public arena a little bit of grace. If it were any of us, we'd appreciate the same.

Oh boy Rob, I have a lot to say. I really didn't care about the launch. I ordered 11 or more products from their website to try them. I loved most of them. They were well priced and the products worked. I was so excited. Cruelty free, woman owned, local to United States, checks all the boxes for me. BUT...... I went and left reviews on the naturium website (where I purchased my items, under my email). I left 5 stars for pretty much all their products. They were fabulous. They accepted all of my 5 star reviews. I left ONE SINGLE PRODUCT with one star and they emailed me back saying my review didn't meet their standards. All I did was leave my honest opinion. My opinion is only valid to them when it gives them praise???? This completely put me off. It gives me the impression they are filtering some negative reviews to keep their products at a certain star point. They let some through so it doesn't seem too sketchy, but behind the scenes they are 100% doing this. I can come with all the receipts (emails) too. I would have been a life long user of at least 7 of their products. Considering my age I believe they are losing quite a bit of my $$$$. I hope the star value is worth it to them. It's not only me. This is becoming a regular narrative within the skincare community. Thanks foe another great video. I hope you are well. ❤️🥰

Not everybody has forgotten about the launch of this brand. I bought the vitamin C and retinol complex serum when I started learning about skin care, right about when the brand came out and I had not realized about their launch issues. I didn't saw results with either product. I saw greater benefit for my acne (mask induced) from lilyana naturals retinol and cerave resurfacing retinol serum. The retinol concentration in the naturium retinol complex serum must be lower or doesn't penetrate the skin as well as the other 2 brands previously mentioned. Either way, I use a stronger retinol now and there are plenty brands out there that I trust more than Naturium after their launch.

Want to start by saying I love you , Rob! As someone new to her skincare journey and shops avidly at Target, I actually picked up the Naturium Azelaic acid serum and tried it without having any idea of a scandal, and loved it. I found out about the scandal only recently, after I had already seen success with their products. While I do not agree with what occurred, I think we have to have a bit of grace, forgive, and move on. I still love Purito products after the sunscreen scandal… I think it is all about how a brand apologizes and recovers from an incident. At the end of the day, if the products work, that is what it’s all about, and I truly believe some of the formulations are great and accessible. I’ve yet to find another accessible AZ acid serum (facetheory isn’t readily accessible) , and I am willing to separate the scandal from the product. Again, I find what happened to be very wrong, but not so egregious that everyone should swear off a brand entirely. I think the whole situation is a shame, but we all make mistakes. That is my 2 cents ♥️

Thank you for making this video. I'm willing to forgive Susan for the shady launch but what really bothers me is her "fast fashion" approach to skin care. It'll be the new Paula's choice soon, with 30 different cleansers 🙄 I'm more of a Krave beauty fangirl which is the opposite approach but also with really good products at a reasonable price ... I don't know what I'm going to do once I can get my hands on the Naturium skincare. Maybe I'll buy one or two products of interest, maybe not. I'm kind of indifferent

I do think that most of her products are very different from each other. Maybe 1 or 2 in a category (such as cleansers) will be similar, but all the rest will have very different purposes and active ingredients. Paula's Choice products are so similar in ingredients and experience that it feels like they only change the color of the bottle. I've tried both brands and I feel like Naturium has a lot of products but at least they all have different purposes, vs Paula's Choice just putting out similar products in a cash grab.

I've had no problems with nuturium in regards to break outs. i wont be without their alzeic emulsion or transemic acid. The green mix is my go to face wash now before I could only use krave matcha but now I can pop into my local Target and grab my soap. In my opinion the soap is between krave match and youth to the people kale cleanser in cleaning the face not to harsh not too gentle. I used to look on Amazon for skin care with melanin inhibiting ingredients for hyperpigmentation and I kept finding Naturium with those ingredients and for a reasonable price. I looked on KZbin for reviews and found about this botched launch, but I went ahead and purchased the Tranexamic Topical Acid 5% which has other good ingredients. At the time, there weren't as many choices as now. I love this formula. In the future I am planning to purchase their body wash with Glycolic Acid. I've been using the Alpha body wash with glycolic acid and I just cannot deal with the rather masculine fragrance. The other body wash with glycolic acid is Glytone, but it is a lot more expensive. So I'll buy the Naturium. So far, they have filled a niche I need at a good value and the product is lovely. Yes, they did wrong and yes she apologized. I decided to give Susan another chance. Naturium has great formulations. I will continue to buy their Azelaic Acid serum every 45 days as I have been. Also she also recently stated that they are releasing a sunscreen this year. Honestly companies survived before influencers were a thing, and will continue to. I think influencers are upset that she is still successful despite her mistake and her being “blacklisted” in the community. Loads of companies have problematic histories and are still in play today. I don’t see why everytime Naturium is mentioned every one brings the launch up. No one brings up that Hyram just sells items every time they bring up his skincare line. Funny thing is is that I didn’t watch any mixed makeup/Susan yara videos, didn’t even know of her or naturium until the uproar. (I now only watch new naturium product launch videos because they are sometimes the only place to get the percentages of the non main actives in the product).

The prices and availability at Target (where I often shop for groceries) ultimately drew me in, but the few Naturium products I've tried have been sub-par. I much prefer The Ordinary, Good Molecules, or CeraVe at that price point. Plus, there's niacinamide in EVERYTHING. The new launches all the time are a red flag for me. How much is research, planning and testing prototypes a priority for a brand when they just want to get new launches out all the time? I don't trust brands that do that especially because those brands also discontinue a lot of products. Early on in my skincare journey I only bought from LUSH and I became very turned off because so many of my favourite shower gels and bath bombs ended up being discontinued. It's just easier to find holy grails with a brand that rarely discontinues items. Also, I'm not ok with how the brand was launched. Susan said that she hid her involvement with the brand because she wanted other influencer's honest opinion made me feel like she was assuming that her fan base would lie about their opinions on the brand. Because, ultimately, she lied to us as well. Like you Rob, I'm not offended if people like the brand and want to support it but I'm choosing not to.

Hi Rob despite the scandal here on youtube, most of the Target shoppers will be unaware of all of that - not everyone watches youtube lol. That means the products are selling themselves, without Susan Yara being a thing (or even someone they are remotely aware of) for most of those people. I myself unsubscribed from her and have no interest in the brand, but I live in the UK and do watch youtube. It would be like a new brand launching in somewhere like Tesco and most consumers being unaware of any drama/scandal - the products would have to sustain sales, just because people like the products. I really think that is what has happened here. The vast majority of my friends think youtube is for finding out how to repair something lol, but they're not even remotely interested in skincare content - many of them just dab on a bit of moisturiser and use makeup wipes. I found youtube skincare content, because my friends were so disinterested in it and here on youtube is where I found the people like me who really share that interest. I won't be ordering it from the US - there are so many other brands more readily accessible to me without all that drama/scandal being associated with them. I rarely buy Purito anymore for similar reasons, although I am tempted by their new dermide line which really seems targeted at my atopic and rosacea prone skin. I am somewhat cynical and don't really expect brands to behave well - it's all about money after all. My skin is so finnicky it seems somewhat foolish to dismiss products that may work really well for me. When you have robust skin and a healthier bank balance than myself, you have a lot more choice what you use. Just my take on it. Best wishes.

@okashi102 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I found your channel because of your first Naturium scandal video! And now I'm a dedicated member of the MAS family. In terms of Naturium... yes, they had the scandal at the very beginning, but I mostly see that as a one-time Susan Yara mistake, not an overall company mistake. Overall, they are super accessible in the US (both in price and retailers) and have great multi-active formulas with the most trendy (but proven) ingredients. I've liked pretty much every Naturium product I've tried. Their Azelaic Acid derivative serum is one of the only ones I can use (G&G aPAD isn't multi-active and Paula's Choice Pore Purifier is too expensive). And the body washes are so luxe and it's very rare to find body products with actives at easy stores like Target. They do have a TON of products, but they all are very different and have different actives and purposes. (They aren't like Paula's Choice which has almost identical formulations in different bottles.) Based on how Naturium usually launches products, they tend to like to release multiple different versions in one line of products at once. For example, their body washes. So, I bet they're working on sunscreens but want to release several different ones at the same time. Just my guess.
@waverider7132 жыл бұрын
I think you're right the brand will have a bright future -- I actually think it will eventually go the way of Paula's Choice. I'm of the forgive and move on approach re: the original launch. Also, as you mentioned the formulations of the products, and the price point are hard to beat. I've gotten great results from the products.
@tyresseferguson24622 жыл бұрын
I think some have probably forgiven her but there are some that still calls her out today about not truly giving a true explanation. If I recall correctly, according to her in the apology video, she helped with the formulations under a NDA; which I get that, but she shouldn't have mention the brand at all not until she knew she would come on as a co-founder or was done helping with the formulations under the NDA. The creators I watch still mention using Naturium.
@tyresseferguson24622 жыл бұрын
I use some of the products and seen great results; the biggest turn off for me is how quickly they have been dropping new products. It makes me question how much thought is going into the formulations. Now I know that all of these formulations could have been created prior to the company official launch, but it seems like every month or every other month there's a new product launch. Another turn off is basically every product has niacinamide. Finally, with the number of products that contain actives, they don't offer a sunscreen. Now I'm a huge fan of Korean sunscreens due to the filters but still if customers will be using multiple products of a brand that contains actives, at least offer a damn sunscreen.

I've tried Naturium and they do have a lot of great formulations but I've since discovered other holy grails. Their azelaic acid, niacinamide gel cream, and the cleansers are quite good. Yes Susan made a big mistake when she launched the brand. I bet we've ALL made big and small mistakes throughout our lives but for those of us who don't have a yt channel, our mistakes aren't broadcast to the world. It's time to move on from dragging up the launch. It was two years ago. I had someone in my life who would bring up mistakes I made when I was a CHILD. I'm now 52 but I cut her out of my life when I was 45. There has to be a time limit beyond which these things don't continually get dragged up. Rob, love you to bits but it really is time to let this go.

Whether you intended to or not, Rob, with this vid, you promoted the brand. I totally forgot about it & given the prices aren’t exorbitantly high, I’ll check it out now. They way I look at it, there's no need to punish people for bad calls or wrong decisions for the rest of their lives. She's already suffered a weaker launch and a bad reputation. Why rub it in over and over if she's already had to learn a difficult lesson like that? I choose to support the brand personally because EVERYONE who has put hard work into it deserves it.
