When we tell the youngsters their music isnt nothing like ours, this is what we're talking about.

Remember when when could actually tell who was rapping by just hearing a few lines from a speaker but now you can't even tell who is who because it's all autotuned or they use the same cadence and the same 20 words. Hip hop on built on young guys who were book AND street smart and had a massive vocabulary.

Y'all ain't no hip hop heads if this is your opinion. Go listen to JID, Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, Joyner Lucas, Daylyt, DTG, Dababy, NLE Chopper, there are still mainstream artists who can compete with every generation. If you think this generation is just mumble rap and no talent then im sorry but you no longer know hip hop. And I'm sorry but mumble rap is a true party of the culture too, and honestly it has been for a long time, go listen to rappers from Memphis in the 90s... hate to break it to you but that's part of the culture now and go walk around the ghettos in the southeastern section of America, that's just how they talk, and the music reflects that. If you can't understand that then again, you aren't a true hip hop head Ps I was born in the 80s, I grew up with pac, big, treach, pun, army of the pharaohs, big L, a true student of the game respects all eras and all corners of the genre. Y'all just some haters stuck in the 90s. Expand your horizons and enjoy all the quality hip hop going on today. Hell we have a diss battle that rivals any battle in the past going on right now, it's a great time for rap.

Grew up in metal household, from Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath to System of a Down, Korn and little later with harder bands like Suicide Silence or the really early Bring me the Horizon. In my school, my whole class and quite frankly all of the others were really and I mean REALLY into hip hop. Tupac, NWA, Ice Cube, Snoop, Dre, just all the legends and I tried over and over and over, but I could not bring myself to like it. I mean I admired the flow, I loved the beats and really was blown away by for example Busta Rhymes how fucking fast the man spits. These days? I'm 30 years old and I can't get enough of old hip hop just like this! I was attending a wedding of my friend and 3 days before the wedding we had our night out, we were doing the bar marathons, riding in skatepark drunk out of our minds, took a taxi to the next city where we almost literally dragged our friend from his bed after his 3rd night shift, dressed him in a princess costume and force fed him a kebab and don't worry, it's not like we did something to be assholes to each other or anyone else. And on the way back to our city via a taxi again, the taxi driver laughed his ass off the whole ride and begged us to keep it down a bit or else he might crash so we just stopped and decided to just randomly spit lyrics from our favorite songs and the friend who was getting married just went with NO VASELINE and it got stuck in my head so bad I searched the song when I got home. The next day? It took me to the whole album "Death Certificate" which later took me to NWA and I was balls deep at that point. The same songs I couldn't like back in school? Now I was blasting them day and night. I was getting so obsessed with it I even went to a local club that plays old hip hop songs every friday and I hate clubs, I just went there to have the music be loud as fuck, get a couple beers and just enjoy the ride. And yes, I went alone to a club, just for the music (and beers ofc) and as sad as it sounds, I met some new people, played table soccer with 'em which led to a whole another series of events, BUT. Nowdays I'm mostly listening to some real earfuck music like Ran-D, Sub Zero Project, Sefa, Dr. Peacock, Runeforce or something like Veil of Maya, Landmvrks, Architects or Paleface Swiss. But every now and then I can't but to just sit back, put on some Ice Cube and actually FEEL the words, it's unbelievable how different the music hits, when there's no loud bass kicks, no guitar shredding, it's awesome. And yeah, I mostly listen to the hip hop songs when me and my fiancé smoke some of those fine herbs, can't tell if it's related or not, but it's def. better to listen to this rather then some shit like "Sefa -Asturias" seriously, give that song a listen and imagine you are flying high whilst listening to that stuff.

My family all listened to R&B and Jazz, & Gospel so when rap hit the scene it was more representative of my life. So I been following the movement pretty much from day 1. MTV was a major source of the music since we didn’t have internet or any of that. My older sister used to record every yoMTVraps episode and we watch them all religiously. Hot take, a lot of people consider Blondie’s Rapture as the first actual rap song. I believe it was aired on the first yo MTV raps episode too. KRSone gives a nod to them in his song Step Into A World.

Don't you know you be funky, while You're smilin backstage doin' your mother, ugh, doggystyle I'm wild, raw, a whore and still suave Check out this style that I've Soul-simulated, sounds from a stocky Semi-social, never seem sloppy See silly slappin suckers, sorry saps and slouchers Straps slammin stouch, mackin this mass is savvy We see so-so-songs and some shots, so Snatch seven samples, start slowly, go solo Set the cassette stereo, sounds diffin' Stood the Sagittarian, some marriage is a system Smoke the joker, three times over And owe her, go with the flow Or I'm about to yoke a joker All that straight-faced shit like your heart had been through Smile and give your face somethin the fuck to do You're ugly, smugly, squiggly, dilly-wrinkled faced bastard Someone needs to hit and run ya to run ya ass over backwards Let's giddy up, yep yep, another fuck up Grab your microphone, battle time, sho' nuff Any freestyle I see while I prowl I dial a new style, tell me about ooh child! Another victory, it's mystery I smoke your skull, your brain'll come blistery All fuzzy, dirty, dizzy, does he Get the things he needs? Remember how blistery? You ain't ready for the Freddy of rap You can't kill me, I step into your dreams, you feel me Slicing your life away, just like my mic today I eat you the psycho way, I'm rippin' shit right away... I treat ya like a bitch in a ditch off of angel dust Take you to a roof, sure you can fly, just jump slut You think you might say a rhyme, then someone might order like You couldn't wet shit up in a motherfuckin water fight All lockjaw, look at the props y'all So proud I'm sure, suck my encore's Swingin a bolo, your flow goes solo I'mma smoke ya It's time to yoke the joker The only way you wouldn't be gettin' dissed, jumped like a girlie Is if your father would've bothered to pull it out early You ain't got a single drip drop, you're stripped of hip-hop If I see ya disagree, you'll be gettin your shit dropped It's the extended version, the side you can't fuck with You'll get the jimmy MC, you're swift to kick the bucket I'm tired of Mr. Nice Guy, place your price high Bet on a battle rhymer, tell my chances are sky high Never would you ever get the thrill to say "Yo, sweat Y'know that kid Treach, I took him out, he was no threat" Because you know I'm better than that on my worst day Takin' competition's what I do in the worst way Quick to do a hit, for you most likely I spoiled ya I bored and ignored ya, then boringly floored ya The proof is in the puddin', my collar ain't wooden It takes more than an axe to tax, bless the children Physically, facially, racially made to be Crazily paid; a G. What a fuckin way to be! Hot damn, I'm a man with a hand plan Pimp smack that then attract the new game plan Eat your big beef, digest the rest, test Shit, I was slept yet, then go to the next step That's what I do, that's what I say, that's what I live That's what I prove, that's what I move, that's what I give Makin' other brothers wanna go home and write shit Bite what I might get, then up and say "I quit" Me getting got? Thank you Em for introducing me to Treach. I knew of Naughty by Nature but I didn't know much.

Treach has been in my top 5 since 93, Eminem just said what everyone already knew.
