I have been crocheting since I was six years old, and I'm 60. I just wanted to thank you for this video/tutorial. I prefer to work with thread and have made so many beautiful things. Now that I'm older, I'm losing my eyesight and have started making projects with yarn i.e. 'lots' of afghans! I saw your video for the sunburst granny square and decided to give it a whirl. I just wanted to say you are an excellent teacher, and have the sweetest, most loving voice. Thank you so much again. I will be turning out many of these afghans for my kids and grandkids. Thanks again.

You are a great teacher, better than most. You explain in simple terms and make sure the camera is focused on what you are doing. I tried to follow a woman making a beautiful granny, but she kept changing the camera angle in the middle of the stitch. She drove me crazy 🤪 the beautiful granny square wasn't worth the frustration. Keep up the good work.

I wrote it out incase anyone wants it! sorry the format is wonky i was just doing it for myself. Also I used a magic circle. Magic circle ---16 double crochet (including the first, chain 2) ---Slip stitch directly into first stitch for no gaps 16 Puff stitch ---Chain one, Yarn over go through , do this until 7 bands on the hook --Pull through chain one go to next, do this until all of them are done including the very last stitch then slip stitch into the first one --Pull up to height of double crochet because have to pull through all of them --Can count 16 puff Bobble stitch --Chain 2 (she always chains 2 normal is 3) , --Yarn over into the obvious larger hole, as if you are doing the first part of a double crochet, but do not pull through the second time. --Instead keep doing the first half until you have 5 rows on the hook , chain 2 (chain two every every pull through) --Do this between each puff for a total of 16 , do the last loop slip stitch first one Granny square --Chain 4 --Double wrap (yarn over 2x) insert into space pull through 2 , pull through 2, pull through 2 (trebble stitch) --Do 3 of these (first cluster of 3 - corner) --Chain 3 inbetween the corner ones only ---Do 3 more ---pattern is corner 3 cluster, chain 3, second part of corner 3 cluster, 3 double crochet, 3 halfdouble crochet, 3 doube crochet, corner.... etc until you work your way around. To finish slip stitch into the 4th chain of the first chain length.

Thank you for this wonderful video. This was my first time making this pattern. I do have one question. Are you able to continue around the the square to increase its size? If so, how would I go about it. Thank you
@nautikrallcrochet2 жыл бұрын
Hi Laurie, you can absolutely keep going around the square! It depends on how big you want to make your squares. But basically you’re going to finish your square round with the slip stitch…then slip stitch into the top of the next two stitches to get to the corner. Ch 2 to start your corner then work a regular granny square round. You don’t need any different/special stitches once it’s a square you just work regular granny clusters of dc. If you just want to make it a few rounds larger just continue on in this way. If you’d like to keep going and just make a giant granny square blanket or whatever-then I would flip the square each round so that the square doesn’t go wonky on you. For example: work the 4th round as is, then flip so wrong side is facing-ch 2 and work 2dc into space between clusters and continue working granny square round. Join round with sl stitch and then flip so the wrong side of the previous round is facing you and work another round. Hope this makes sense! M
