People are being pretty critical of Mewn's coaching. I got to say I really enjoy these coaching videos, because it also allows me to learn more about this game that I've never played myself! The only thing I would change is Tim's defensive attitude. It doesn’t really bother me right now, but it may get tiring at some point. The back and forth during a game is not helpful.

Hide in the bush to Q the enemy . If it is warded , hide in another one. If the minions are blocking the bush side, move out and try to q from the other side .

I think the only champ that rivals Nauts CC is Leona. Leo has the advantage of beeing able to go through minions. Naut has the advantage of displacement and point and click ult.

As someone whos played this game since season 2 Tim is way over estimating the usefulness of his warding. Till gold people dont even look at minimap except to ping u when they die for not warding. Your trinket wards are more than enough for majority of games.

You can play him jungle easily, he's a cc machine and has tons of aoe, with the tanky green pet, I bet he can be a pretty intimidating menace for the enemies
@hellfrozenphoenix13

Naut jungle is a thing, as loliston pointed out. He is a hard engage gank machine due to his insane CC and Q helps him traverse fairly well. He struggles top due to his lack of damage unless he goes AP and going AP is super high risk, like any off meta build. Its good to have an off meta as a pocket, but not the primary playstyle. If the enemy happens to play ibto the strengths of an off meta enough, its sometimes worth just doing that instead of the main plan.

Man I love Tim but holy cow. Dude does *not* have nearly as much game knowledge as he thinks he does and he keeps arguing with a guy who's orders of magnitude better than he is. That would tilt me off the face of the planet.

The good: Whoo, Pally on Naut! I hope he really likes him, I love that hes just this cc beef factory. The bad: another coaching session from "nobody uses vision", "sorry, I missed that fight, I was talking to chat" mewn. :/

I've been playing this game since season 2 and mewn is 100% correct Tim hyper over values vision. It's good stuff but it's not as earth shattering important as he thinks. If you can't get by on only trinket wards in elo where no one buys vision you're not gonna do better with pinks

I… really, I’m sorry. I *loved* Mewn back in the day, I like his content, but while I respect his views on how to play the game, I find his coaching and his interaction with Tim really, really painful - right or wrong (who am I to judge) - I also don’t find I get much from these videos but annoyance as a consequence.

What was annoying was Tim being defensive. They asked for Mewn to coach them. He is going to be critical about what they are doing as thats how they are going to get better. Also he wasnt even being a jerk about it.

"People don't actually use vision below Diamond" How fucking dare you. As a sup main for as long as League has existed (just not someone who bothers woth rank often as a mom, wife, a scollegr student) I find that rather insulting.
@fated4glory816

Hes not necessarily wrong though. Hes harping specifically at tim, as they cannot properly defend their vision as they, and oh so many people in lower elo don't. So you run into situations where you're bleeding gold to your opponents. For every pink ward killed by the opponents that is a 105 gold defecit for your team. At the elo that they are playing at if you cannot get by with trinket wards and the occasional pink for objectives they are doing something wrong. He is trying very hard to break a bad habit that Tim does constantly, which is wasting and bleeding out gold. Ultimately this delays power spikes that can be used to push himself ahead of his lane opponent and potentially throwing away the ability to carry a match. If you listen to how he talks to Tim you hear him say, i dont want you to completely give up on warding, but for right now it would be easier for you not to buy them at all. Tim has a mindset of warding heavily from his time playing jungle, which the role plays and controls the entire map, the adc role isn't to heavily control vision, its to be an imposing damage threat to the opponents and position well to get kills. Delaying that damage is a detriment to the team.

@@fated4glory816 I've just never personally liked anyone who liberally used broad generalizations to make a point. I've also felt that Tim is a bit too confrontational in his tone when he's trying to teach (as in he seems to get agitated easily) so I get the feeling that Tim feels the need to be defensive and therefore less receptive to what is being said. I'm not disagreeing with everything Brad says, but rather with his choice of words and teaching method. And again, not *everyone * ignores words.

People are flawed, this is a rip from yesterday's livestream, so it's not by any means a thought out prepared speech. You need to read into what he's saying, as he explains that 3 wasted pinks is the equivalent to a kill in lane and that Tim sits on those wards for an entire game without using them. Im not going to go into Tim's reception as he typically is very stubborn in his opinions and viewpoints. But if you watch almost any league content creator that focuses on new builds, clumbs to GM or challenger on a main account then plays whacky stuff on secondary accounts climbing from unranked to diamond frequently they will say the same things. You learn timing of the game and can infer that at 3:30 the jungler is taking scuttle after full clearing and is going to gank a lane at 3:45 so i should as a laner rotate to scuttle to assist, or play back under my turret if im currently at a disadvantage. 5 minutes you should be looking where your jungler is and see if you should rotate to dragon pit. All of these things become familiarized with time and you can infer where the enemy jungler should be on the map at any given time and ward accordingly.

A coach that doesn't know the most recent patch and the massive changes? What kind of "coach" is this?
@fated4glory816
@fated4glory816 Жыл бұрын
Its a friend of theirs thats reached master on several roles. You dont need to know the intricacies of every patch. The same general concepts are going to carry over season to season even if the items change.

@cosmicsilhouette3858 Whats doubtful? Im curious at the generalized statement. He even states when he learns about the new items that itemization isn't that important compared to general play
