I'm not a boat guy but a gear head who has worked on many RVs, am a plumber by trade and spent two decades in the construction industry. And this is why I got sucked into the Nauti world. To me the "look it's shiny and the cushions are lovely" doesn't register unless the bones of the thing are built well and to last. So yeah, I'm with you. The technical aspects (durability and serviceability) are much more important and stuff that's built to last just gets my attention. So details are where it's at. And these guys experience shows as they always focus on details. Cool stuff

Another super yacht tour by Team Victoria and Rico! When I was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany, one of the German MPs I worked with had a father who had a boat he used on Germany's rivers. It had a small car on the back deck and he could tie up somewhere, drive the car off the boat, go do whatever he needed to and come back. That was cool.

We are 15 years away from retirement but we ARE doing TGL and we can’t wait!!!! That’s why we are watching your videos, to decide what we want to purchase abut 2-3 years prior to retirement! We say 2-3 years, we want to have time to learn the ins and outs of the boat, so we are very comfortable and confident doing TGL!! The Great Loop comes literally right through our backyard on The Chesapeake! We can not wait….
@Lord.Kiltridge Жыл бұрын
The lowest unavoidable fixed bridge on the Great Loop is currently charted at 19.6’ and is located at mile 300.6 on the Illinois River. If you can clear 17’, you can cruise through downtown Chicago. In order to cruise the full-length (western half) of the Erie Canal, you must be able to clear a 15’ 6” fixed bridge. It is recommended that your boat not have a draft greater than 5’. However a draft of 4' or less is best. This boat hits all these points very nicely.
@Lord.Kiltridge Жыл бұрын
@Navy1977 I just went back and confirmed that the air draft is about 15 feet, but only if you lower the mast.

The choice to make the window fold rather than lift : so you can use the ladder down with the window open was a smart idea. Same with the rear doors folding rather than sliding so you can fully open it. Some sharp cookies designed this boat. I'd probably ditch the guest cabin for a larger master and put the washer dryer etc in the place where that berth was. Guests can get a hotel , I'll pick you up in the morning for a day on the water :P

Of all the boats and yachts that I have seen, this is the most complete and perfect yacht... Its external appearance indicates strength, durability and simplicity, and inside there is a welcoming space that contains everything that any sailing lover could wish for... Only it lacks a towing support for people who like to catch big fish. And a large refrigerator for those who want to sail for weeks.. As for the rest, everything is incredibly perfect.. Greetings to whoever designed and built it.

Here in the PNW we've been fans of Outback Yachts for many years. This, however is indeed a whole new concept. I do like the openness of the interior and the crazy spacious aft deck area. That lifting ladder is brilliant! My single complaint is the forward location of the master cabin -- would prefer to have it located mid-ship where you'd feel less movement when at anchor in a rocky anchorage, with guest quarters in the bow. Lastly, I really like the placement of the engines aft -- much quieter underway and best of all, they did it without V drives :))

Very interesting boat, some huge pluses. The very long aft deck is designed for holding a dinghy or kayaks, with simple, foolproof launching and hauling. If an owner does not want to store a tender there, I believe the Outback can be ordered with an extended deckhouse for increased interior room. I particularly like that the aft deck is totally covered by a long roof. Not a fan of the ladder to the bridge but I understand it allows terrific engine access. I would go with a slightly shorter port settee in the salon if that would permit a port door to the side decks for safer docking. Like so many boats with a forward main cabin, the Outback pinches the head of the berth. You have to want true togetherness with your partner's head to be OK with that compromise. Interesting to compare the Outback to the Krogen Express, a quite similar slender yacht that can cruise in the high teens with moderate power. Informative, thorough video as always.

Very nice design on this boat. If I was doing the great loop I think I would choose this over the Ranger Tug 43 to get more interior room. After a summer in Denmark with very modest temperatures (I had to turn on heating in July!), I am now selling all my gear, that I can not haul along with me on a backpack and next week my travels start in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Chennai even infamous in India for being a very hot place, I expect to finally see some real summer! I can not afford a boat unfortunately, but the next year I expect to be backpacking Asia. Nice boat for sure and good clean lines. I have to say though, looking at the accommodation below, I am even more impressed by German Sirius yachts and their 35DS and 40DS monohul sailboats, which offer more useful space than this 50 feet motor yacht. It really is incredible and you should check those out. Even the 35DS got a better second cabin, with full headroom at the end of the berths, midship and under the deck saloon essentially. It also got a man cave like that, which could be used as a laundry space or work space or even both. You should definitely check out those boats.

"Great Loop Capable" .... so that drew me in as I knew what that was. I grew up in Wisconsin, a few blocks from Lake Michigan. I've taken the Badger Steamship across the lake three times, at least 5 trips to Washington Island and also 2 trips to Beaver Island. I am well aware of weather that can happen on the Great Lakes, so I know you need the right yacht to do the Great Loop. At first, I thought this was going to be an older yacht tour, but it wasn't. Some great new features, and I was worried it was slow until I saw the SPECS, 21 knot cruise and 24 knots if you need it, yeah, that will work. Really fun tour. I would definately do 2 heads. I think with a smaller yacht like this, you are going to want to come into the nice Harbors, esp. in Door County WI if you are cruising Lake Michigan. The only boat I've ever owned was a 17'9" aluminum fishing boat, but I sure had a lot of fun with it, and even ventured out into Lake Michigan with it, probably further than I should have. The Great Loop is something that should be on a lot of people's bucket list IMHO. I agree this seems like a great yacht to do that in for an owner operator. At first I was surprised to see a ladder to the flybridge, until you showed how it folded up out of the way. Fantastic.

Love the in depth focus of your tours. I feel I know the boat after your tours. I like this one a lot. We’re now 2 and thinking of getting back into the game 😮

17:44 it looks like the shop vac has a dedicated place. If so, than THAT would seem worthy of nbbl. 24:15 I like that the furniture isn’t white. Overall a very nice boat for a single or couple.

Thank you for your great tours. I think that the order of the tours is very logical and I wouldn’t change anything. Also you two are a great couple. I definitely feel like I would enjoy hanging out with you guys and having a blast. If there’s ever a chance you are on the east coast(I’m in northern Virginia in a DC suburb) for a boat show, it would be great to meet you two. A girlfriend of mine just moved to Myrtle Beach SC, so I will definitely be visiting there often, until I eventually move there. Anyways I can’t wait to see your new boat, and I probably can get some friends together to charter your boat if and when you guys do that. This is a cool boat. Love the doors at the rear along with the windows. Amazing views whilst eating breakfast or any meal. I could definitely live aboard this.

Also I enjoy Rico’s knowledge and take on things. Victoria you bring up all the practicalities and the extras of the boats among other stuff. Between the two of you I think it’s a really great combination and you guys deserve more than KZbin is paying you (I don’t really know). I apologize for not subscribing earlier, but I bought one of the first smart tvs a few years ago, and it’s not very smart. I could never get my account to work on the tv. So I finally decided to start commenting and subscribing and liking on my phone even though I watch the videos on my tv. Ok I’m heading to Naughtyguys. Thanks and keep up the great work!
