The condition of this vessel is amazing. Especially the engine room. the engines look brand new. Plenty of storage space. The layout and space is very comfortable. For a 24 year old boat it is in pristine condition.

that boat/yacht is a ideal live aboard when you compare it to house/apartment prices in that part of America ... you have a great entertainment section on the fly bridge and on the cockpit also comes with aa large dingy and a smaller one so you and your guests can go on wee adventures and scouting out for good spots to anchor the boat what a great boat ... thanks for sharing Rico & Victoria .... just goes to show there loads of life in older yachts if you look after them right

@@andyvankerkhove6902 not a boater, I assume. It’s made of fibreglass, and it has an equivalent lifespan to the shoddy shit they put up in giant suburban tracts. So at least 50 years, maybe 75 or 100? Theres fibreglass boats from the 50s people still use daily. There’s wooden boats that are 100-150 years old. Or more.
@shitloveaduck2 жыл бұрын
@@teaeff8898 so true. If they are well cared for, not unlike a home, they will retain their value at this point. There was a big amount of depreciation initially. Not unlike housing as well, you would pay right near, if not over, $1,000,000 for an equivalent replacement. Ouch!!!

it's not that easy. boats are always trying to sink and degrade in the salt water. marina fees can be the same as a mortgage and the resale not good. there is always repairs to be made. also your insurance company may not even let you move the boat yourself to enjoy a weekend getaway without enough experience as a captain
@constantineding87002 жыл бұрын
I like the practicality oozing throughout the whole boat. Take the master cabin as example, the boat is only 4.57 meter in width and it still fit a kingsize bed in it. We have a lot of new modern boat with wider beam but with a much smaller bed in the full beam master just to give more space to make the airy feeling. We definately spend most of the time in our bedroom on bed. So a bigger bed absolutely has preference over something like a chaise lounge. I also love the true full beam lounge area with everything in the right place. It's more like a living room of a beach-side condo, the only difference is that you could change the view outside of your window as you wish.

@@NautiStyles What's great about owning and/or living aboard boats is that unlike automobiles that can look VERY dated after a number of years, the average layperson can't usually discern between a newer boat vs. a model 20+/- years old, especially when the interior is remodeled with modern electronics/TVs, newer furniture, etc. And for the price it is REALLY a great condo alternative. The only thing I would do is spend the $10,000 (??) to add a hard top on the fly bridge. Rico was a little rushed this time. Eat something next time guy!! Enjoyed the video! Keep it up.

I love stuff like this! With a bit of savings and a loan anyone can afford a livaboard and this is the perfect combination of price, size & features! I’d be very happy with this. When me and my SO moved back home to London (UK, not Ontario) after a 5 year break I wanted to buy a yacht but that idea was shot down pretty quickly. Maybe justifiably but on one side we had nice relatively large motoryacht moored in The Thames in a C.London dock or a medium sized apartment in a different part of C.London & where I grew up. So we obviously chose the apartment but whilst I’m so happy to be back in the area I grew up and surrounded by family and nostalgia I can’t help but think about what could’ve been. A home on the water capable of sailing around the world, docking in beautiful places, or simply dropping anchor & living off grid sounds amazing! I guess that dream will have to wait the 30-40 years it will take me to reach retirement! I just have to build up enough “marriage points” because that’s all marriage is, scoring points!

I wish I could have seen something this nice when I was hunting for a used yacht/apartment to use when visiting Victoria/Vancouver. I would have snapped it up!!! There just wasn’t though, not for this price anyway. I am happy with my Grand Banks Europa 52, but this is much roomier with only 4 additional feet. I leased the Grand Banks and to recover most of lease cost, I will buy it out and re-sell it. They don’t last long on the market. It took me a couple of long days, but my yacht is almost as clean as this, but is a 1992 model with 3 year old electronics. Garmin. I have been to Vancouver and back with it, which is a decent trip for starting out. Lots of boat and ship traffic, and open water that can get seriously rough when the winds get blowing. On the way back we dropped anchor and caught a halibut and 2 15 lb lying cods. We were set for fish for the next week or so for 5 guys. The amount of meat you get from a decent sized halibut is amazing. Ocean living is soooo amazing. I couldn’t do it full time as my wife and family are all in Alberta (she gets motion sickness quite easily so doesn’t come out but we did secure access to the property owner’s guest cabin when his family and friends are not in it. That way some of the wives can come out also and sleep there if they like. It’s funny but with all of us being 50 and up, also from the prairies, none of our wives except a couple, are even interested in more than visiting the yacht,,,, hahaha. Not entirely a bad thing. I now have 2 leather sofa beds in the lounge so there’s decent sleeping areas when a group of guys join on board. The upper deck is enclosed with a hardtop & canvas and a couple of the guys have slept up there even. You could easily do the same with this yacht. I guess if I’m going to get serious about keeping a yacht on the coast, maybe a trip to the states could pay off if I can’t find what I like locally! You two have found some very nice examples there. It’s not an impossible cruise up the coast.we have seen and met with several yacht owners coming up from California in the summer and even on this trip. I go home tomorrow! Sighhhhh hahaha. We caught enough fish for each of my brothers and their families to last the winter! I also did pretty good but will be back out so am only taking one halibut home this trip. Since it was processed as soon as we docked, some earlier than that even, and then frozen to about - 30 right after, it should be very fresh all winter. Ocean living is so very awesome! The fish is free, but the upkeep of the yacht makes it kind of expensive,,, haha. Those stabilizers are really an awesome feature and the fact the leather is original,,,,, well, there’s one well kept yacht!! Thanks you two!!!

Safer. I love the Wood Salon and the witdth because of the missing walk-way. Love the Fly~Bridge bench wrap arounds. Love being up high enough to see. Love the old school gauges in the controls. Volvo. Good engines. Fore~Deck should be nothing but 'nose' and not a "People Place". (🤣⚓🤣.. My father's "Nautical Term") Did I miss an "anchor"?🤔 Love the Galley with access to the Pilot House. This makes it a "House~Boat".. Rico....eat breakfast!.. Stablizers are definately needed being so high. I like the way they were so accessable in the engine room. I am a Bow sleeper.
