During the Winter Olmypics of 2002 in Salt Lake City, we worked with the Navajo people, documenting the Discover Navajo Pavilion, their first large scale presentation of their culture to the world.
One of the events there was a gathering of the few remaining WW 2 Navajo codetalkers, where they were honored by the tribe, and their service to the country.
This video shares a few moments with the Code Talkers, and some highlights from their service.

This man was a true Bard. This is the type of storyteller he was. You could hear a pin drop in that audience. Absolutely enrapturing. You want to learn history, listen to the Bards.

I was lucky enough to see this man perform live. My God what a talent! He performed his music and there was one story of a Veteran returning home. The audience was so gob smacked that you could hear a pin drop. Absolutely enraptured. In Celtic/ Germanic culture we would refer to him as a Bard. This is a name not given lightly and their works are still read to this day. A high esteem as history flows through them and their largesse of writing poetry and epochs are unmatched. What a gift he had. I wish more of the world could see it! Congratulations on your sobriety! Peace!

Thank you to our Warriors who fought and those that died defending Dine' Ta'. Thank you to Vincent Craig who gave those beautiful words, and who gave me and my familly something to laugh about in times of great hardships.
