Really nice to see how well the new vet barn setup is working. I'm enjoying watching your team work so well together, too. Where is Dr. Lydia? Is she on vacation? I enjoy seeing Dr. Gina work, both vets have definitely settled into a lovely working relationship that's very heartwarming to see.

The new intake barn looks really good. Y'all were able to get the reservation horses checked out a whole lot faster . And they were in a warmer place out of the elements. Hopefully, there isn't anything to bad going on with them , but when there is a large herd , one never knows. Have a blessed day.

I keep hearing from Tawnee that she designed the whole intake setup...I saw the surprised look on the Dr. Lydia's face when she saw...I think the vets should have designed the inside set up as they're the ones doing the most important work in that area as Dr. Lydia was stating what side they needed to do things on so needed some changes...don't you think? I'm seeing so many new faces...is there such a high turnover in employees?

How nice not to be working in mud slush and rain.Those horses look a bit poorer in condition and sad to hear several have a bit of lung issues at this point in time, but Dr feels it not too drastic at this stage. The very cold weather probably has been a bit of a challenge for them on top of travel and loss of the home they were used to. The intake seems to be better for staff and animals. I noticed you never gave For The Love if The Hoof credit for bringing these horses to you all the way from Arizona. Jim drove through the night to get them to you as soon as possible. They were vet checked in Arizona getting their Coggins, deworming, tetanus (all healthy). I know this because I am a big supporter of THAT organization and watch their intakes and daily care. They keep a very clean set up for the horses they bring in and it is a very calming environment for these wild babies. I wondered why after over 2 weeks they are just now being looked at. Why now respiratory problems? They were healthy and free of illness when they left Arizona. Where were they kept to allow for them to get sick. I am questioning the care you gave them because I am very involved from the initial standpoint and I understand you put the group together in close proximity for more than 2 weeks awaiting your big reveal of the intake barn. In the mean time some got sick in the wet weather and shady area. Arizona horses are not used to that amount of weather change to go from dry to wet. Take better care of them in future. Please. PS it is because For The Love of The Hoof starts the process of handling and daily contact with humans and caring voices that those horses were calmer for you. I do appreciate your Vets though.

I do like the concept of the new intake barn, but are you sure bare concrete is safe for the animals coming in? There isn't anyway for them to have any traction on the concrete, as was evident by the appaloosa almost falling. I'd check him for any torn ligaments or muscles. Just wondering how you're going to lay rubber mats or something of that nature to keep them all safe.

@alycewich4472
@alycewich4472 15 күн бұрын
HPHS has helped on at least one reservation with the gelding program by getting the reservation a HUGE camper that the volunteer medical teams can stay in when they come to do these castrations and other medical care. Before that, they had to stay over an hour away which cut into the time they could spend on the surgeries. That alone is a big help. They're also involved in a Navajo reservation where some of the horse gentlers live. And they're working on a competition for the reservation horses similar to the Mustang Makeover challenges. Tawnee has more ideas about caring for the horses to keep them out of the slaughter pipeline than is possible at the moment. BUT considering that when I started watching HPHS videos they were still going out to the auctions and buying the horses there and taking them to their facility, I'm AMAZED at how far HPHS has come in the relatively short time I've been watching this channel. Having the auction kick them out was one of the BEST things that ever happened to HPHS. But it sure didn't look like it at first...

These horses have lost a lot of weight since being in your care. You really need to up your level of horse care, especially if they are young and sick.

This is a completely different group of reservation young un's. Dr Gina stated: "Overall health of THIS group..." meaning a completely NEW arrival of reservation horses.

@@paulawinstead5660 There have been two groups of Rez horses. The first from Arkansas that T & J picked up and the last, in early November, that For the Love of the Hoof delivered, this is that group I believe. Angela says that they came before the last buy out. My assessment stays the same.

He didn’t say anything about where they’re from why they’re in such poor condition. What’s the intent of what you’re gonna do for them. Are you trying to get them healthy to take him back to the reservation? Are you doing this to call original Wildlife population of Mustangs on the reservation? Also, the echoing in the clanging has got to be working against the horses. Despite what you wanna sell, I like the new facility, but you need to soundproof it a little bit, some foam insulation and some soothing hz meditation music. And another thing I noticed is you need to get some non-slip coating on that concrete, before one of them falls and injuries its legs because it’s waiting to happen. And please remember, you are a predator as far as those horses are concerned, especially wild horses. They don’t need another predator like a dog running around them. Wild horses will hide their true condition like any wild animal. These guys did not look calm to me . Think act think again. You guys are much smarter than this video shows .❤😊

Im thinking this is that group that came from that other horse shelter. They hauled to horse plus so there has been coverage on this group already. They were just left to decompress and things like that and Im guessing they are now getting checked. Also the construction of the barn isn't complete. So I'm sure all of the concerns of sound and slipping will get checked. Edit: I just remembered there was a group of reservation horses that came through the buy-out as well, and I'm pretty sure that group was left alone to decompress.

The staff don't like that so many get pts! I've seen cases that can be fixes in time but as they keep saying "winters coming" If they don't have the facilities to stable and rug to help a horse through winter and treat them accordingly then they should stop. Or Is the moto "euthanasia cheaper." I'm starting to wonder! Lydia wants to fight for the lives but many a time she's been over ruled in a meeting. Twarnee has yhe final say? Funds can't cover that care for 1 horse. But to that horse it's his life. That's why stuff don't stay. Lydia be next.

The fact you use the word reservation in the title show you either have no clue of why ndigenous people were put in reservation, or you have no respect for indigenous people. If so, then you should just remove the word resevation in the title, and only use navajo wild horses.... You do awesome work for animals but show respect for indigenous people and stop using the word reservation

From what I've seen with Tawnee's reactions and speaking about the indigenous people, she has HIGH regard for them. Perhaps she has permission to use this nomenclature or that's how the people on the reservation use this word.

You think, or you know someone is mistreating the horses? There is a big difference and your comment can lead to people believing it’s fact. If you have seen a TikTok video it’s hard to believe you or anyone watching these videos wouldn’t know where to complain to, or how to contact Horse Plus. Their website and all social media contacts are on KZbin in every one of their videos. You should have tried a tiny bit and used google if you didn’t want to go to the “about” tab on this video. Even if English isn’t your first language all the contact info is readily available. Are you just trolling?

I would suggest that you contact a humane society in the area where these videos are being made. That way the local law enforcement can investigate it. Will it take some work on your part? Yes. But start there and see if others can help. Thank you for your concern. And, be aware that if you have no knowledge of horses, that you may be wrong in your assessment of cruelty to the horses.
