Navajo Traditional Teachings

Күн бұрын

In the culture of our Diné it was important to conduct yourself in a manner that reflected what our people believed.
Navajo Historian Wally Brown, teaches about the importance of this. Why is it important? What happens if you don’t know this?
And maybe you have experienced this before. Or maybe you experienced the joy happiness, confidence and peace that comes from knowing this.
True to form Wally doesn’t give explicit instructions… instead it is up to you to learn. To decide what the teaching says to you and seek after it.
Enjoy.

I don't see it. Embarassment for not knowing hurts the learning process. Learning requires asking questions, and discussions include making points and being criticized. If embarrassment to speak stops speaking, it will stop learning.

Also I should specify that when I say "I don't see it" I mean to say, the main argument in the video, not the comment about the elder being light in a dark world. I would agree with that.

@@defenderofwisdom what do you not see? The teaching never talked about embarrassing someone who doesn’t know but advocates for making the effort you can to know and understand yourself, where and what you came from, what your relationship to this earth, world and people is and what it means etc. Am I missing something in your disagreement here?

But, hey, our government loves everybody, the Natives, the homeless, the Veterans, but we need to bring in more illegals from 70 countries by the millions, who haven't been tested for any sickness at all and bus them all over America. When I was in my teens I attended a Unitarian church with of the finest humans I’ve ever known as it’s minister. One day he gave a Sermon the Holocaust and made the point anyone could become a concentration camp guard. This was a pivotal moment in my life. I knew already I had weaknesses. So I began ever night to review what I had done that day…was it what was best or worst in me. As I grew older and began to work in civil right movements, I added bigotry, eventually in all its forms. I no longer have to do it everyday…I usually catch on before I do it or if I don’t, talk to the person I injured. I still examine myself and mostly do fine, to quote you. I’ll be glad to go to that next place…it will sin be time to move one. I look forward to what I will learn. I’ve come to believe that most politicians run for office out of greed.

This couldn't be any truer today. A bunch of people running around spewing crap out of their mouth without knowing who or what or how come they are. Thank you for sharing.

I am now my authentic self. But I was Not always my authentic self for a very long time. My authentic self is love. I learned how to be my authentic self by reading a book by the author Don Miguel Ruiz. It taught me how to weed out the negative agreements I made subconsciously with myself during the process of my domestication which starts at birth. I have reached heaven on earth in my mind and personal freedom. This is my favorite video of all the videos this guy is in on youtube I can see his assemblage point. And his is also in a position of being a person with a lot of love to give.
