Part 2 of my Navajo Wars playthrough tutorial. Thing is, I forgot two important things during play. 1: During a Planning Action I had 2 Elders each raise our Military points. I forgot to balance this by also reducing Culture points, but I'll correct this at start of the next video. 2: When completing a Ceremony card I forgot to Reset cubes during Step 1. ☹ I'm annoyed about this and apologise. Sometimes too much talking and not enough thinking! 😊👍

Great playthrough. It flows well and is very clear. Quick rules quibble though. At 12:05 you state that you need to roll higher than the elder rating to get an elder action. You actually need to roll lower, or rather, within the printed range. So by playing the value 6 ceremony card, you guarantee failure, not success. You'd have to roll a 1 or a 2. Keep making videos! Might I request a playthough of one of the Enemy Action games, by John Butterfield?

Thanks for your feedback James. Yes I noticed this only yesterday. I have no idea why I made that error (too much taking 😊) In the next video for instance I do another Planning action but this time I did it correctly! Strange but can sometimes happen when concentrating too much on narrative 😊. Enemy Action just might show up 👍

Much obliged Tony, thanks! I wish I had more gaming space so I could split up this video series. But I'll reduce the explanation I reckon and speed up the gameplay.

At 9:00 does the AI not bank the 1AP they couldn't use. I has been a while since I played Comancheria but seem to recall that is what they would do. Apologies if I'm completely wrong or if you mention this a bit later in the video. Edit - although I guess moving the cubes at 16:00 kind of covers this and allows the AI more actions. Furth edit - I'm now up to 21:11 where you mention the banked APs. I should watch all the video before asking questions!!!!!!!

Hi Colin very pleased you could take a look! You're right to mention it although I didn't forget, but neither did i mention it at the time. I hope I get to grab Comancheria at some point too 👍

Thanks for this videos. I really like them. One question: Why don’t you buy only one trade counter? You would have 3 AP. And in the next turn you could preempt and execute the Diné operation segment first.

Hi Sergio, thank you for watching! I know, decisions are difficult. Never sure what to do because there are so many choices. Lots more to come 👍

Very clear playthrough. You're making me regret not buying this game while I had the chance. Well, looks like they're going to reprint Comanchería, which I think is the same system.
@soloboardgaming2 жыл бұрын
Appreciate your feedback, thank you very much! Yes I believe Comancheria does share much of this system and I'll certainly look forward to it becoming available again 👍
@colinwright272 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Comancheria is very similar to this. It has been a while since I've played it, but definitely have the itch to get it to the table again soon.
@dutchww2 жыл бұрын
Not really IMHO. While it shares some elements the feel in Comancheria is very different. Comancheria has a bigger scale, multiple enemies, an interesting leader system (Paraibo / Mahimiana) and in general, feels more aggressive. Navajo Wars in comparison feels smaller, has an interesting family system, and feels more defensive. Both are fantastic games (I prefer Comancheria I think), recommended! I also highly recommend reading books on the subject while playing, these games are very thematic.
@soloboardgaming2 жыл бұрын
@@dutchww Thanks Dutchwood. Interesting take on the differences and useful to know. I had heard Comancheria is more aggressive. I guess this reflects the telling of different stories being told. I'm real keen to get Comancheria when its available 👍

Hi! This playthrough is a gold! ☺ Just one question: during the the planning action, when you gain military point, for every military point you gain you lose one culture point? I have read the rules translation so i don't know if it's an error of translation. In your example you gain MP but u don't lose CP. Thank you so much from Italy ☺

Thank you Emiliano, I appreciate your question. If you look at my comment at the top I admit I did make this mistake, so you are correct 👍 I corrected my mistake in the next video 😊

Late I know. Planning phase. For elder success, I think its equal to or LESS than the elder rating. So “6” and “5” would be failures. I think

Didn't you forget to reset cubes at the first ceremony card? It would have given more AP to the AI I think.

Thank you for watching and taking time to ask a question. I've just checked back and you're correct. I was so wrapped up in explaining Enemy Way that I forgot that resetting cubes will always apply! Apologies for that, I'm glad you pointed it out 👍

@@soloboardgaming No problem, being at the beginning of the card it's easy to forget when you check the ennemy way to know what to do with the card. I've done that mistake many times 😁 You're doing great so far, I want longer episodes 😉

@@Hybban Excellent thank you! Yes I'll be stepping up the pace by reducing explanation a little and increasing gameplay so I'll get a lot more in and with longer episodes. Hope you'll check in again 👍
