Navajo Traditional Teachings

Күн бұрын

There are many cases of suffering in the history of our Diné (Navajo People).
If we can embrace the idea that suffering is a gift… there are many positive things that can come from it.
Navajo Historian, Wally Brown, teaches about suffering.
And how it can prepare us and make the future better if we let it.
But it can also hold us back if we get angry about it.
Enjoy the video.

You were meant to see this video. You were drawn to it because of what is in your #soul. My family is from Puerto Rico and we have Cherokee in our bloodline. Remember that we are all souls which come from our Creator. If your heart is pure and you truly want to ascend to a higher state of consciousness to access the higher dimensions, this is all that matters. The physical body is an illusion, sister. If you overcome your Karma in this incarnation and build up your light body (via sun gazing, etc.), it will be your #soul that will ascend through the higher dimensions until you (and if you are able to) reach what is called the ain soph aur. ALL WHO WANT TO ASCEND TO A HIGHER STATE OF CONSCIOUSNESS ARE WELCOME HERE! 🪶✨🪐

When growing up in a Christian household, I grew up, memorizing a verse similar to this, to consider suffering joy because if you endure, you will grow. To this day, the verse sticks to me, and I didn't know why. I'm a Native American myself, and when I heard this, I realized my ancestors led me to the advice of our people without me knowing.

My father was a Christian man who felt led by God to help the Navajos. We lived in Flagstaff from 1976-1985, and during that time he helped many of them, fixing their cars, helping them out of alcoholism, and most notably, digging a 1500' well out at Grand Falls Holiness church so they could have water. He died shortly after digging that well at 39yo from a brain tumor. He gave me his Bible before he died. Many years went by, and I joined the navy, traveled the world and brought his Bible with me for the 20 years I was in. I was deployed to war zones 9x, and ran into a lot of problems and struggles. Finally, 7 years of service, I began to read it. I came across Psalm 119:71. It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I might learn thy statutes. That verse has literally carried me through life for the past 23 years. It has taught me so much, to encounter each struggle with the attitude of, "What can I learn from this God? What are You trying to show me?"

First thank you, second I always despised suffering and I’ve had my fair share. When my mother was on her deathbed, she could hear my thoughts when I was silent. I was thinking, why her suffer? She was always so good this is meaningless! Then she spoke this, “I know, but it does mean something, there is meaning to it”! I sat confused. But after listening to you I put it together, sometimes others suffer for like you said, for your children and grandchildren. And now I get it, she suffered so I and my siblings and grandchildren could ease into letting her go. And you’re right my anger over it all clouded my vision.

We all have to be wise in knowing that most suffering comes from societal paradigms. Our souls are from creators not manipulators. In knowing this, understand that the game called "life" can be played your own way. Never allow another human's expectations of you interfere with expectations of self. It's 2021 and all around us is ignorance, self serving ideology, gluttony, and addiction to dopamine via social media. You came in this world alone and you'll leave alone. Don't regret anything and do your best to evolve. Whether mentally, physically, or financially. You may feel alone, but you're soul is a fragment of our oneness. We got you when this is all over.

I spoke of our father from Israel who never sleeps nor slumbers in keeping watching over His ppl the jews who he made Covenant with Abraham Issiac & Jacob in israel thousands of yrs ago. Where Jesus' lineage comes from. You need to learn hebrew, Greek , & Aramaic word studies in order to understand the whole of the bible. God's name is Jehovah, and, I Am etc. It's Jehovah who in genesis who states He made Adam & Eve in the garden. No other God has ever claimed that! Hoped I cleared your confusion. If not just start reading the bible dilligently & in about a year you will gain much wisdom & knowledge from Him if you only ask with a humble & contrite heart n spirit. God has many names btw. Absolutely amazing that I found this. I was on Kauai since 97 and went through a very health destructive relationship that ended a yr ago. I had a breakdown and rested with a friend. In this home with no television or noise I was able to climb out and realize that I had to leave that place. Now just 4 months later I have a car, job and actually aware that I saved myself. I seldom look back at that island. I do miss the ocean as I’m somewhat planted in the Midwest. But I learned that nothing is written in stone but the sand that washes away on the shores of the sea. I am learning to love myself and being happy. While leaving much behind I know there’s more ahead. At 59 I want love and peace. Blessings to all that are still kicking it🕊😉

This is a very important lesson. Thank you for making this video Mr. Wally Brown. When I catch myself getting angry about the things I have endured and am enduring, I always stop myself and pray when it happens and make a conscious effort to let go of the anger. I don't like the feeling, it feels like I'm suffocating on it. I don't want that feeling. What you said about rejoicing when we endure trials is accurate and it does make us better people. It's taken me a long time to learn but I'm glad that I'm learning now. Again, thank you! 💗👌💯👍

Been getting tired of trying. This video helped me. For those who need the help it’s there when you let yourself accept it. The openness of having vulnerability when dealing with hardship can make it easier to see. Thank you for making these videos. It goes beyond whether you’re native, black, white, or anything. It’s the thing that makes us all human. Why we can have love in our hearts.

Congrats! That’s great to know! I may have some, as well, through my father, he’s on YT, has passed, but looks like he is a mix. I never knew him, only was on his Facebook page as a fan (he was a singer), but I don’t think he knew of me, so I said nothing. He’s passed now & I’ve heard there is a lot of info about him on 23 & me. But I can’t get on there. Best to you & yours! Great we all found this channel! So much to learn on a whole other level than most teachings!

As somone who feels like they never had a tribe in life I really from the bottom of my heart appreciate being able to watch these one of my earliest memory is getting taken by holy people on one of those magic boats that never sinks and it’s not amiss on me the wisdom or the blessings in having access these teachings and more importantly feeling like even if I can’t see them maybe I do have a tribe somewhere.

I thank you with All my heart for this Elder. Today is the anniversary of my father's passing .I am a nurse and the Eldest of 5 who promised to stay by my dad in his journey from this world until he crossed.. it was 3 days with no sleep and no rest...I was there at his side when he left. I know that I did all that I cod do however I suffer each day since then. I know it is a gift to receive the teaching but it is so heavy to bear. I hope that my future holds some small relief of my suffering

Something I realized last night/yesterday and today is that we are learning how to reverse time. We now have to determine a future and start to uncover our own past. Before we had a past that made the future unknown. This seems to me like a natural process, but it involves a lot of suffering.

Yáh'áh'téh shí cheíí greetings from the coyote canyon NM. I guess each family have different teaching about suffering in my family I was taught to learn how to endure it because the world is full of suffering and don't lay there if you have one arrow in your body but if you have more than one arrow in your body and laying there that shows you are brave and if you commit suicide that just shows you can't deal with life I'm a Proud Navajo... until then walk n beauty

I believe that I have reincarnated into this lifetime but have always felt more spiritually drawn to my Cherokee heritage and wanting to learn as much as I could. I worked for years with survivors of such things, and the spiritual abusers were, from my perspective, the most insidious because they have the potential to damage the place we draw real strength from.
