Hi, I’m Ratish Jha, and after watching this complete conversation, I felt I had to share my personal thoughts. This video is packed with deep insights that really moved me. Here’s my full takeaway: 0:25 - "Life Takes You Where You’re Meant to Go" Naval’s view on life really struck me. He said that if you have high agency, you’ll end up where you’re meant to go. This means that as long as you keep putting in effort and believing in yourself, life will guide you to the right place, even if it takes time. It's such a comforting thought that eases the pressure of trying to control everything. 1:03 - "The Secret to Happiness in Relationships" The idea that "happy wife, happy life" is a myth really stood out to me. Naval emphasizes that both partners need to find happiness for themselves for a relationship to work. It’s not about one person sacrificing everything for the other-it’s about both people being equally happy, which ensures a healthy and lasting relationship. 1:45 - "Find Something Greater than Yourself as You Age" Naval points out that as you grow older, if you don’t have kids or a bigger purpose, you need to find something greater to make life meaningful. It made me think about what I want in the long term-how having a purpose beyond my own needs will make life richer, especially when I’m older. 6:00 - "Simple Ideas Hold the Most Power" This was one of my favorite parts. Naval explains that true intelligence lies in making things simple, not in complicating them. He says he prefers to deeply understand something so he can explain it simply. This mindset really hit home for me, because often, we overcomplicate life and work, when the best solutions are usually the simplest. 6:55 - "Don’t Just Accept What You’re Told" Naval talks about how we’re often encouraged to accept knowledge from others without questioning it. His approach is all about verifying things for yourself and making sure they’re true from your own experiences. This really resonates with me because it’s so easy to be misled or influenced by outside opinions. It’s a reminder to always trust my own judgment. 8:23 - "Stop Living in the Past" Naval has this brilliant take on not letting the past define you. He doesn’t dwell on past mistakes or old memories, and that’s something I struggle with sometimes. His point about focusing on the present and looking forward is a powerful reminder to keep moving forward, because the past is already done and we can’t change it. 9:06 - "Only Praying in Trouble is a Fair-Weather Faith" We often turn to prayer only when we need something, and Naval’s take on this really made me reflect on my own faith. He points out that people are “fair-weather friends” with God, praying only in times of need. It’s a deep reminder that faith should be a constant presence, not just something we rely on during tough times. 10:01 - "The Miracle of Existence" This part blew me away. Naval talks about how existence itself is a miracle, and how we often overlook this simple but profound truth. Just the fact that we’re here, living and breathing, is incredible. It made me appreciate life’s small moments more, and how lucky we are to even be alive. 15:06 - "Self-Obsession is the Root of Misery" Naval doesn’t mince words when he says that thinking too much about yourself is the root of unhappiness. This really hit home for me because it’s so easy to get caught up in our own heads, overthinking every little thing. His advice to look outward, love something or someone more than yourself, is a refreshing way to find happiness. 16:26 - "Don’t Leave Life to Luck" Don’t rely on luck to shape your life. Naval rejects the idea that success is purely based on luck and stresses the importance of believing in your ability to shape your own destiny. This was a wake-up call for me to take more control of my choices instead of leaving things up to chance. 20:09 - "Ambition Will Lead You Where You Need to Go" Naval says that ambition drives you toward where you're meant to go. If you have drive and determination, you’ll eventually end up in the right place. It’s an inspiring reminder to trust in my ambitions and to keep pushing forward, even when things seem tough. 22:23 - "Never Stop Being Curious" This one’s a game changer. Curiosity is the fuel for growth. Naval emphasizes how important it is to always keep asking questions and seeking answers, no matter what. It made me realize that the moment I stop being curious is the moment I stop growing. 26:00 - "True Love is About Unity, Not Desire" Naval’s take on love was deep. He says that true love is about seeing yourself in someone else without expecting anything in return. It’s more about unity and connection, not desire or getting something back. This made me reflect on how I view love in my own relationships. 30:29 - "Your Thoughts Right Before Sleep Are Powerful" Naval talks about how our thoughts before we sleep are a window into our deeper selves. He suggests paying attention to the thoughts that come right before we fall asleep because they can reveal a lot about our state of mind. I’ve started doing this, and it’s fascinating to notice the random things that come up. 32:43 - "We’re All Connected by Shared Emotions" No matter how different our lives are, we all share the same core emotions. Naval’s point about how every human feels the same things-happiness, sadness, love, fear-was a beautiful reminder that we’re never truly alone. It brought me a sense of peace. 35:03 - "Create for Yourself, Not for Validation" Naval’s advice to create for yourself, not for external validation, really hit home. So often, we do things to be liked or accepted, but he reminds us that the best creations come from doing something purely for the joy of it. I want to apply this more in my own work. 39:02 - "Quality Over Quantity Always Wins" People remember your best work, not how much you do. Naval’s insight on how we’re ultimately judged by the quality of our work, not the quantity, was eye-opening. It’s a good reminder to focus on doing a few things exceptionally well, rather than trying to do everything at once. 47:01 - "Focus on Your Own Journey, Not Group Identity" Naval’s advice to focus on your personal journey rather than getting wrapped up in group identity was empowering. It’s easy to get lost in what society or our culture expects from us, but real growth happens when we’re true to ourselves. 56:09 - "Walk Away from Conflict, Life’s Too Short" Don’t waste time on toxic relationships or conflict. Naval’s approach of leaving behind people and situations that bring negativity really resonated with me. Life is too short to keep engaging in things that drain your energy. 1:03:35 - "Win the Game, Then Move On" Once you’ve achieved success in one area, move on to the next challenge. Naval’s perspective that life is about evolving, not getting stuck in the same game, is something I really needed to hear. It’s a push to keep growing and not get too comfortable. 1:28:56 - "Modern Life Requires a Resilient Mindset" In today’s world, you need a strong mind to navigate through the distractions and overload of modern life. Mental resilience is key to thriving. Naval’s advice to protect your mind from overstimulation is something I plan to work on more. 1:33:00 - "Be Selfish with Your Time" Protect your time and energy by being selfish with it. Naval’s take on making sure that you only spend your time on things and people that truly matter is something I need to apply more in my life. It’s about creating space for what really counts. This entire conversation with Naval was eye-opening, filled with wisdom that pushed me to reflect on how I live. If you haven’t watched it yet, I highly recommend it-it’s life-changing

If a tree falls in a forest and there is no one around to hear it, then it doesn't make any sound. 42. If you keep death in front of you all the time, then you will live a magical life. 43. Be okay with an unhappy truth rather than a lie. 44. It's the exact moment in time that matters. 45. Avoid being overfed, under-exercised, and overstimulated. 46. The media's purpose is to make every problem your problem, occupying a slot in your brain to make you care. 47. You're not meant to see violence, pornography, they are very weird and rare, unique new things. 48. Become a yogi in self-defense. 49. The past is a dream; is it real? 50. You don't remember most of the past; the little you do remember is a very selective memory stitched into a narrative-no point in remembering it. 51. Think of the future for practical, utilitarian things and not for what it holds for you. 52. Be more selfish. 53. Make sure you really enjoy your work. 54. Ensure you are working with people that you really like working with. 55. Fame is a beast; it will eat you alive.

He's constantly telling one to find their own truth, not take anyone's word for it, and strive for being enlightened in their own way. Be cautious, everyone. The state Naval describes, where there is a mini-elimination of 'me-ness,' can be tricky to achieve. For most people who try to reach it directly, it can lead to the suppression of emotional energies. You might believe in your mind that there is 'no-me,' but when suffering arises, there's an automatic identification with the body and mind, as that is our habit. This can lead to the accumulation of trauma. A better approach is what Naval talks about later: being mindful of the present moment and practicing being aware here and now. This will eventually lead to what he is talking about but in a more organic way. Best of luck!

This question is to Ranveer and Naval sir both! From what I perceive in parts Naval sir’s conversation it is a lot about - not being bound to A particular philosophy or religion and being free! Not tied down in a box or identifying ourself too much with anything and finding our own meaning! Which absolutely sounds brilliant! Especially when I watch this at 2am! I love the thought all the more! But when I step out tomorrow morning without identifying myself with anything or any community and I come against a bunch of 5 people who identify VERY strongly with something and in a rather manic manner ! Enough to destroy me! And no one comes to rescue me as I have never identified myself with anything or any community, how will my freedom survive? Isn’t it always about survival of the fittest and while some are brainwashed in their early days to destroy others, how strong will be freedom stand in the test against the unity of people who are obsessed with a particular religion and have only learnt that since childhood?

Excellent point. Inward, we have the adhyatmik truth and that keeps us sane and grounded. Outwardly, we absolutely play the roles (vyavaharika) with limited identities. As long as we have the gross body, we have to engage outwardly and play by the rules of that game (leela). This is one of the main wisdom points from the Bhagvad Geeta. Confusion arising from this point has caused great harm to Bharata in the last millennium.

An honest feedback, with due respect. It felt like Ranveer continously wanted Naval to say a few things (pride about his ethnicity for example) and went to to an extent that Naval seemed a but annoyed.. Some interventions by Ranveer were irrelevant. If I'd be next to him, I'd also fanboy for sure, but doing it to the level you did just idolizes the individuals and leaves no scope for honest conversations. We Indians are hard wired on treating people as celebrities and a hint of jingoism as a Masala.. this conversation could've been so much more, so many doors could've opened.. a bit dissapointing. I dont mean any malice and rarely ever comment on social media. I mean this with good intent.

Naval always has a way of breaking down complex ideas into simple, actionable insights. His perspective on wealth as a byproduct of knowledge and creativity really hits home-especially the point about specific knowledge being more about innate curiosity than formal education. The reminder to play to our unique strengths and follow what feels like 'play' is pure gold. This isn't just about getting rich; it's about living with purpose and mastery.

He talks about Happiness, Wealth and Peace. All of which we all aspire to achieve in life. I really wanted to know his views about Hinduism. Ranveer, I loved this podcast. I especially appreciated it more being a 46 yr old who grew up in Delhi and now have been in USA for past 20 years, since I could appreciate cultural nuances in the questions and answers My suggestions come from a place of love When you interview someone authentic as Naval, who is trying to respond to every question in an honest authentic way, it’s a great opportunity for you to level up. Some of my observations. You tend to fanboy a lot, and praise the guest. It adds no value to the conversation, and it will make some guests uncomfortable, esp the authentic ones. Instead try and pose questions from a curiosity standpoint. You also tend to throw in cliches and put forth your opinions in spots where it sounds made up and forced, almost like you want to contribute but don’t know how. Imho,Unless you really truly believe in something, there is no need to present your opinion to fill in space. You can use space as an opportunity to ask genuine questions to learn more about your guest. Your authenticity shined through when you mentioned the few places in India, that you wanted to take him to. That part felt very genuine to me. More of that level of authenticity. Keep learning and growing brother!

This is the best spirtual podcast that you have done so far! All hats off to Naval for him to demonstrate principles of - Advaitha Vedanata, Awareness (and or consciousness), Non Dual Tantra. You can see how he embodies all these in his every living second. For him not to label or drop jargons when explaining deep concepts in simple string of words is exceptional! The kinda of clarity and clairvoyance displayed in speech shows how he is blessed by all 8 goddesses of speech - Vaak Devis (Vasini, Kameshvari, Aruna, Vimala, Jayani, Modini, Sarveshvari, and Kaulini). He didn't sensationalize anything which shows how he is not attached to anything and yet is operating in a state close to that of a 'Jivan Muktha'. If this man has not attained self realization then here is the proof and example that HE IS A PRIME CANDIDATE who will soon hit his goal of self realization. You can see how he does not regret, recollect or regress of the past nor is anxious about the future but is soaking in the bliss-awareness that is present this very second and every second. The best secret that Naval dropped which was not explored further is of that of "Direct Experience" and reference to Rupert Spira which means his source of knowledge and current learning is from those of the likes of Christopher Wallis, Bernado Kastrapo, Adya Shanti etc.. who talk about "Direct Experience" to self realization and enlightenment without explicit reference to any terms of any "-ism"s or Santana Dharma (even they acknowledge that is where they learnt it from). Once again what a fantastic episode. Felt like a fantastic Navaratri Gift, thank you for this!

And not embarrass them by fanboying too much and pushing him to talk about his indian side and religion. What a wasted opportunity. This episode is proof that we're letting the wrong person represent India. Ranveer, your lack of research and model of basic questioning cannot and should not be excused as "Indian public is into emotions." After Naval saying multiple times about his lack of interest in the person. You continue asking what if questions and things about him personally instead of his experiences and the fate of the future. You clearly were following a script in the podcast. The inability to be able to continue your questioning based on his answers and getting deep into a topic is shameful, considering you have years of experience in such conversations. You certainly were the first to start the podcast revolution in India but it's high time you evolve. Stop chasing views and get into qualtative podcasts. Your focus still is on making celebrity content which gets you mass views. You have the opportunity to improve your podcast and take the knowledge of all your listeners one level higher. You seem not at all interested in that. Podcasters like Prakhar would've been a much better host for someone with the stature of Naval.

No he is not, talking about oneness and still stuck in sense gratification doesn’t make you dharmik mate

Ranveer didn't podcast him well. Matter of fact is podcasting him isn't like podcasting any other guest. What Ranveer asked him was all surface level understanding for Naval, what we need is extremely thought-provoking question to see him making new answers which he hasn't answered before.

Exactly, if he spent so much time to reach him, he should have had a question set ready or just asked people online and that would have been enough. Naval is growing old and I don't know how much time we have left with him..

Where he was lost of intuitive questions he ended up asking "really" ? 😂@@suvendroseal1724

I actually appreciated it, specially the spiritual philosphy and his outlook, he rarely speaks about that, other things he has already spoken a lot about

I agree, he kept forcing the conversation instead of letting Naval express himself

Yes, he asked very question maybe bcz that what ranveer fan following is

Definitely conversational depth is what people might be finding or questioning, because we live in a indo-western mindset (more western due to media: so we dont relate) but he has to do it (jingoism masala) for Asian audience where it gets him views, we have seen he can go in depth whenever wanted. Secondly the editing maestro, the improvement you have done in intros , damning hardwork by the team🎉 its superb

Everyone who's fanboying or fangirling over him has to understand that's the whole point! He's constantly telling one to find their own truth, not take anyone's word for it, and strive for being enlightened in their own way. So then how can he be the sole reason for anyone's awakening when the core of his learning is - figure it out yourself and find your own truth. So lets the not miss the core essence Naval's talk!

You can be fans and still find truth.

@@cosmosapien597 Interesting point! However as per me, when you are a 'fan' you have to suspend your rational mind towards that person but when you're finding your truth, you have to be very unbiased. So there's a certain paradox there which one knows when they undertake this journey and question everything.

@@Tavleenkaurofficial-0407 while listening you can forget you're a fan or critic. Just pay attention to sounds of words. Then later on become a fan or critic again.
