It’s great that this amazing documentary won the award. However in Russia, they cut out the Documentary award when they showed the ceremony at the prison where Alexei Navalny is being held for defending democracy. Hopefully he will get released soon.

So glad Navalny won. Great to see a documentary not in English win. Great that a Russian language documentary won an Oscar. Hope more Russian language documentaries are released internationally and get Oscar nominated and possibly win. Maybe a documentary about autism in Russia would or one about gay in Russia or about Russian kids playing soccer or Russian kids playing hockey or about TV Rain or about Andrey Rublev or about Russian literature or about Ivan Pavlov or about Russian Olympic Committee or so much more It’s been a long time that a documentary not in English won this.
