Lovely boat. Would be great Dan if you could also review smaller boats for those of us more fiscally challenged?
@BoatLife_DansBoatLife4 ай бұрын
I’d be happy to Dan! At the moment it seems to be all the bigger boat manufacturers chasing me for videos but I’m super keen to build a team and bring more tests to the channel… also I would need a drone pilot for small boats as I don’t have anywhere to hide out of the way on smaller boats

@@BoatLife_DansBoatLife Appreciate the response and the logistical issues. Maybe just simple shorts videos on tenders or similar small boats. Not as in depth as there's not a lot to look at on a tender. Would help the big boys to know what they can hang off the back of their boats, plus would be a nice gateway boat for new boaters. Things like the Offshore Cruising Tenders from NZ, Takacat RIB etc. You're doing an amazing job, but just a suggestion. Thanks for all your hard work.

It’s a cool boat. I think there will be a market for this. Also their S model looks interesting and I’d like to see what that’s all about too.

Nice job ! They're growing on me. (I'm a trad pocket cruiser shape guy). Their 'S' version has a neat bench seat flip trick reverse direction revealing a grill & wet bar. Super inventive ... 🇬🇧

Brunswick makes police an rescue boats although i dont know if they do anymore. But they did in the past an i use to see them all the time. Very cool boat. I love adventure style boats.

I feel like we need to lay out the challenge for a designer to incorporate a bloke friendly dunny for the next model. I love getting this kind of feedback in the comments. I share your thoughts with designers when they contact me after watching these videos

@@BoatLife_DansBoatLife Yes.... It's all and fine having a wizz off the back on a boys day out..... but....otherwise....no. As you say.... it's only 30' of boat and there is no perfect boat so compromises..... but still.. there's alot to like there.... TWO helm doors for starters. ... oh and 45kn :)

Jut right. Other adventure boats really aren't that practical, this one is. I could see other Brunswick fittings from their sister lines, which is a good thing for spares. This is where my cash would go, with lightweight dinghy on the roof and a Mercury electric outboard to go with the 300's.

17:00 IMO a better configuration at the stern would be to sacrifice one of the rear platform gaps at the transom and create L-shaped seating. There is usually space to move between bathing platforms between the engines and rear seating, and in my experience people will only do that once or twice a rear. Also add some depth to the seats. 20:10 Dunny. I'm peeing over the side or dumping in a bucket. Far easier and more comfortable. 🤣

3 years ago I sold a Nimbus Nova 26 because I couldn’t shut the door on the heads when I sat down….. I’m 6’3” and sadly now for medical reasons I need to sit down to pee. Designers (and accountants) must be really compact. Or perhaps it’s designed by the same team that designs aircraft interiors and their leg room….

@@PhilbyFavourites yeah I see your point being a tall bloke. In boats this size if you want to maintain the exterior lines you sacrifice the interior volume. Some of the US brands do interior volume a bit better

Hi Dan, thanks for the test. Being on the French Riviera, I will better go with the S30 which I visited at the Cannes festival last month. The look is just awesome. I am still hesitating with the Rick 280 you tested a year ago. Any hints ?
@BoatLife_DansBoatLifeАй бұрын
Hi Jean_Pierre, thanks for the tip on PayPal. I have been in 4 countries this week so havn't had a chance to reply. I love the Ryck, it provides a very nice platform for South of France and the internal volume in the cabin is perfect for overnights at Port-Cros (I was there last week) for example. My only concern and I have told them this is I do not see any proactive work to increase the model range. Are they expading the line or is it just the Ryck 280? I would ask this question because this may affect your future resale. The S30 with twin engines or perhaps a single V10 is also another winner for the region. She feels heavier and will therefore be quite comfortable going through all the wash from the other day boats around Saint-Tropez and when that short wind chop gets up. Brunswick appear to already be pushing growth on this brand so I can see a future with them. The S30 will benefit from a little more HP but in return she will feel very comfortable in pretty much all of the different sea states I have seen around the South of France so without knowing more about your personal boat life my gut feel would be to put a little more attention on the S30. Hope that helps.

Hi Dan, really appreciate the answer. I am literary new in Boat life 🙂 got my licence last month. My idea is to spend few days off shore with my wife here and there. Possibly one day go to tour Corsica. Given the price balance for all the options on the S30 I was thinking to go with the 2x225, hoping it gives enough power. Thanks again. JP

Great boat but 400 liters or 105 us gallons of fuel doesn’t seem like a lot for this size. I noticed on all adventure boats they seem to be undersized on fuel tanks compared to express or center console boats.

How do you know if a boat hull is capable to safely run up on sandy beach or not?
@BoatLife_DansBoatLife3 ай бұрын
You need to investigate the beach first. Check the depth of the water, check for rocks or underwater objects and understand if there is any tidal flow in that area plus if the tide is rising or not. Then is it's all clear you can nudge the nose onto the sand and power up gently until the boat is firmly on the shore. Hope that helps.

@@BoatLife_DansBoatLife First, as always, you do awesome reviews., and your review of this boat is very precise and thorough, thank you. The boat in my opinion is much to cramped/ I realize it is a small boat, however the beam is just to narrow. .. . Also, I am sure beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but those low black rails just look cheap, Also, why in the hell would they put a fuel storage locker mid ship under the little cook surface, and so near the sleeping cabin,, ( which is also very inconvenient and cramped.? Piss poor design, and probable somewhat of a safety concern as well. I just overall think the boat is a bad design and not well thought out as to the day to day use of the owner. .... Maybe I am just prejudice and spoiled by the design and beauty of Riviera "s product.. ,, I even think Marex makes a more pleasing and better designed boat.. I just think this boat is a dud, and will get uglier and more junky as time passes by.
