I love these guys. Its sad too many people mistake this for them "trying too hard to sound technical" when you can tell its just what they enjoy playing and just what comes out of them.
@scottguitar2811 жыл бұрын
i agree. sure they're technical, but most people miss the groove side of their incredible music.
@Joyfulcheese10 жыл бұрын
They sure make it look easy, they're all absaloutely phenomenal at what they do - not just a one trick pony in the lead.

This still remains one of the greatest drumming performances in existence. Pure technical skill & raw passionate delivery. Navene is a beast.
@grindcoremaniac14 жыл бұрын
i love how versatile navene is. he played in Animosity, where he was fast as hell. he plays in Fleshwrought, where he where he shows his ability to change time signatures every 10 seconds. and he's got Animals as Leaders where he can do pretty much anything. these guys know how to play.
@inimicalODDITY14 жыл бұрын
man, this is like the perfect gig for a drummer to have. well, any musician actually. it's fun to play, it's amazing music, and it lets the musician shine as such.

There are plenty of videos on KZbin to go all 13rd girl over Tosin, which I DO MYSELF, however this video was directed and IMO in terms of performance, at navene. What a music musician, and his improvisational skills are fantastic, especially in songs with continuously changing time signatures. Power to him and any projects he's apart of.

I saw these guys in Philly when they were on tour with Thrice. I gotta say, their new drummer is really good. But to anyone thinking about seeing AAL live: Do it. Greatest show ever. CAFO was their last song of the set, and when Tosin said "This one is called CAFO", the venue flat out exploded.

This music is has inspired me to do great things... Finally the return of the Gods.. What I like about it most is how dynamic this shit is. The multi layered textured changes and beautiful transitions are mesmerizing. The harmonic variance, the fearless attack and command of the language is breathtaking awe inspiring, magnificent...

the drums on the first album were programmed anyway and I've also heard that Tosin was the one who wrote the drum patterns but that could just be a rumour.

Holy shit! Is he playing the hi-hat on the "e"s and "a"s with his left foot at 1:53?!?!?!?!? It always sounded like that was what was going on the record, but man, I thought that might be one of the things he skipped over for live performances. That's crazy!!! That makes the drum part like 10 times difficult right there.
