Incredible work!! I just spent 3 hours watching your installs, and every one is unique in their own way! I have a few questions. 1. Is there a method to the system design, or just what you feel like doing/what the budget allows? For instance, this setup could've been a primary secondary vs. tertiary. Why opt to go one way or the other? One of my favorites was the zone valve setup with the primary and backup pump. This video is my favorite because of its uniqueness. 2. Also, I noticed you mainly use NFC over the NCB, and it seems like it primarily comes down to the pricing, as you seem to prefer the NFC over the NCB. If you didn't have cost in mind, would you choose an NCB 250/150H or an NFC 250/175H and why? 3. Why do you choose the hydraulic seperator setup vs. the premade manifold form Navien? I like the valve setup/drainage setup for maintenance when you use the hydraulic seperator setup. I could see more benefits with stable pressure, air separation, etc. 4. It seems you do not utilize the autofill valve inside the Navien units, is there a reason you prefer utilizing your own feed valve? Thank you! Can't wait to see more jobs!

Thank you, and regarding questions 1) I strive for uniqueness in every project and sometimes This means adding things to the budget at my expense. 2)nfc is superior in my opinion being a fire tube boiler and not a water tube NCB boiler which has its Drawbacks 3) hydronic separators look better and give a better aesthetic and functionality ….i like symmetry hence the custom flushing ports 4) the autofill valve gives me more control on filling or flushing the system when the boiler is off, and I trust manual control can the soleniod valve

Been watching all you videos getting ready to replace my old cast iron unit. Your videos are awesome and your systems look amazing. Wondering why you put the pumps on the return side for this one?

This is exactly what I want to do in my house. How much would it cost to have you design my system? 13 zones of in floor hydronic heat, plus room to add 3 more when we finish the basement. And 8 full baths with 6+ heads in each, 4 washing machines, 2 dw, etc etc. I'm in way over my head 🤣

Dude, this is unreal. I love your work, and think your craftsmanship is top notch. I'm about to hire a plumber to install a NFC-175, and like with most things, have endlessly researched the product. I've learned so much from your Navien NFC installs! This was the first video where you showed some of your incredible work unfold, which was appreciated. If you could answer my three questions below, that would be amazing: 1. In my set-up, I'll have two zones for heating, which can be both hooked up internally within in the Navien, so no zone controller needed, correct? 2. My guy also is suggesting two pumps, one for each zone, instead of one pump and two zone valves. This video shows that set-up. Is this how you'd set things up in my arrangement? He simply said that two pumps vs one pump and two zone controllers was the right set-up for this job. 3. I've got a forced hot water/baseboard heating set-up. My guy is saying the Naviclean is redundant for this set-up, as the metal that often gets within the water comes from the breakdown in cast iron radiator set-ups. I've got a 125 year old home in Boston that was swiched over to the baseboard set-up at some point. Would you agree that the navi-clean isn't needed? Thanks, and keep on kicking a**.

Again the workmanship and pride in your jobs are astounding. I did see the roof vent thanks for letting me know it was in this video. Is that just regular sch 40 solid core pvc (white) and conduit (grey)? I'm in Alberta and the guy doing mine is saying it has to be 636 pipe and can't go out the roof. It's a huge price difference, is he right on this?

been loving your install! I see you tend to go with the fire tube naviens vs to water tube ones. What are your thoughts on the water tube?
@canuckmechanical6490
@canuckmechanical6490 Жыл бұрын
fire tube is simply a better boiler for dirty systems, more money but worth it for longevity

Great videos and workmanship! I noticed the systems over time have evolved as far as continuous venting. Have you discovered with the hydraulic separator and a standard vent that there is no need for an air scoop?
@canuckmechanical6490
@canuckmechanical6490 Жыл бұрын
No need at all the baffles in the hydro separator work just as well and move the air to the auto vent

Thanks, that was my thought also. You and your crew are true craftsmen. Many contractors these days are doing such sloppy work with very limited skills. Good to see some people still take pride in their work.@@canuckmechanical6490

The hydronic separator acts as an air scoop also, it has a baffle inside it that helps separate the air out of the system 2 for 1
