Actually 2 years before the Alibaba company has an idea about, lets say 'no server restaurant'. They design the table as a big screen, so the customers can directly order food, then the dishes can be sent by robots. I have to admit it's hard to achieve, but nowadays people in china already can order food by scanning the QR code on table, in economic way it could deduct paper use, and human resource.

I visit for business all the time and I cant use these two apps to pay because I can't open a local bank account (I need proof of local income to do so), while credit cards issued outside of China don't work either. Only useful app for me is Didi which allows foreign cards.

1. You still need cash, you are just doing contactless payments - which means it's generally more difficult for you to monitor how much money you actually have. 2. None of your transactions are actually private or untracked, your QR code indentifies who you are and this is linked to your 'bank' which the government can monitor also so they can cut you off if needed 3. If you lose, break, misplace or generally do anything with your phone other than have it perfectly operational you are completely screwed
@themalaysianpatriot30993 жыл бұрын
1) I don’t know about you, but in my country we have an app that can be used to monitor on how much we have in our bank, and in mobile payment apps there will be an option to view your transaction history. 2) Technically nothing in your life is private once you own a piece of technology and use social media. The government will technically have every piece of information you put online. 3) If you misplace your phone, then you can always use your debit card. And if you lose your phone or your phone breaks, you can use a new one and backup your data.

I guess the main reason Chinese companies adopt to QR code is because it is more compatible with different phones. Plus you don’t have to have a credit card to use them. Apple Pay is still largely based on credit economy while in China it is never big. But I do love Apple Pay though. I personally find it safer. And what’s funny is people don’t really use Apple Pay in the USA which is ridiculous cuz they basically invented it:
@andyzhang23316 жыл бұрын
Ryan Morrison Apple Pay is just an alternative to credit card taps. If you don’t have a credit card/debit card , it’s useless. Wechat wallet enables a 8 year old kid to pay for anything in the city if the parent just sends money into the kid’s account.

I must say the first thing in the video is sort of wrong about the credit cards usage in China. Most people have more than one but we don't use the card in kind. We pay through Allipay or Wechat which can be linked up not only with our deposit account but also credit account. Allipay goes even further for it has its own credit system which gives people at least 500CNY borrowing limit, and the limit varies accordingly, periodically.
