Man plans and God laughs. I applaud your decision to take another crew member. Anything can happen and an extra pair of hands may be very appreciated. All the planning for the best route you think is right is time well spent. However, whatever happens on this passage will be things you remember and talk about for the rest of your lives. I can't wait for your next post. Stay safe.

I’m always perplexed as to why you guys don’t have many, many more followers?! I’m guessing that once you start cruising away from Europe and more in the Caribbean, or americas you will easily double your current followers!! I mean, you make great videos, the content is very good (in par with the bigger channels) both of you are young and attractive folks, and lastly you’re cruising with a very popular brand and boat model (which by the way, looks very nice inside) Anyway, thanks for another great video, hope your crossing went well!! Cheers 🍻 Andy

Excuse me, would it be theoretically possible to sail from Florida to Amsterdam? If so how long would it take and how much water do I need to bring?
@rickkwitkoski19767 ай бұрын
@user-sd7qt3hy8l Yes it is. Check distance on Google Earth. Add 50% more. Determine what your average speed will be. Use tat to calculate days of passage. Carry a minimum of 10 liters of water per day per person. Install a water maker if that total is too much. BIG NOTE! Your most likely route would be Florida - Bermuda - Azores - Netherlands.

I've had Covid twice , had less effect on me than a cold. It's that I felt a little off and tested for it or else I would've ignored it. Was no big deal and did everything I normally spend my time on.

Shame you missed the coast of Brazil, easily reached from Cabo Verde. Have a good passage!

So true! We did wonder about it but Brazil was being really difficult regarding entry and covid at the time so we had to rule it out sadly.

I watch many sailing channels. Why do so few of you wear life jackets while on passage? At keast while going up on deck...
@NavikaSailing2 жыл бұрын
We always wear them in heavy weather and at night. Also tends to be the times that we're least likely to film, which is probably why you don't tend to see them that often

Wouldn’t it be possible to quarantine on your crossing instead of sitting tight ? Assuming you’re both vaccinated
@NavikaSailing2 жыл бұрын
Yes in theory! Except we were both feeling under the weather and you don’t feel like undertaking the longest passage you’ve done when you’re not 100%. But also we hadn’t yet checked out of the country, and we needed to pick up some extra parts before leaving!

...someone please explain why so many sailors think/feel/act like being without wind is the end of the world! They are all content to sit in a marina or on hook "becalmed" but on a passage they act like it matters at all.
