I chose GSM because that’s the only choice other than GSE. Aviation boatswain’s mate looks cool and since I don’t want to waste my years getting a degree and going to Annapolis to be a pilot (officer), I might have a chance to change rates to this one.

@@Keionyaa Is ABF a good rate?
@Keionyaa3 жыл бұрын
@@waterhead001 honestly for me it’s not because ranking up is so low there’s so many 10 yr 3rd classes and it’s difficult to make it from E3 to E4 most of the time when we’re not out of sea you’ll be cleaning the bay or flight deck, Your basically the janitor of the navy. In all honesty if your ok with long hours and cleaning everyday all day then you’ll love being ABH. When we’re out to sea is when we do our job it gets better, but we mostly make moves during the night so..but I would recommend any other rated then CS, ABH, ABE, ABF please pick something else if you want to join the navy.

This just tells every new ABH that they will just direct A/C the entire career .. when in fact it’s only when the ship is at sea . I wish they would cover the 80 percent of an ABH career . The other 20 percent might be directing A/C or falling asleep on a tractor . A very close rate , very repetitive, and babysitting adults is what ruined it for me. Be on time , stay positive , stay dedicated and the sky is the limits . Don’t expect the Navy to adjust to you , many make that mistake . Do what you’re told , be respectful. After your first enlistment if you decide to stay in if not you have the choice to get out . That’s the secret .
