Clean every day from 30 minutes to an hour? Yeah no. I was forward hold PO. I had to clean every 10 minutes I was in the compartment in order to keep that dusty ass room SAT. And it was winter, so everyone was constantly getting sick and vomiting in the head. So, we had the bleach the entire compartment every time we got the house on spot. Other than that, though this video was pretty spot on from what I experienced. One thing to note is you're going to feel like a complete waste of oxygen the first couple weeks. You don't know what you're doing and no one else knows what they're doing. But after the first couple weeks bootcamp was easy as hell. It may not feel like it, but it is. 9 times out of 10 if you don't know what to do just follow everyone else and you'll succeed.

So what your referring to is C-school also known as an NEC. The answer to that question is yes and no. When it’s time for your class to pick “orders” they will tell you what C-schools are available to your class, every class has different opportunities. If you do not pick a C-school from the options like if you don’t list one as a choice you may just be assigned a C-school. So it’s best that you pick one because if your stuck with a NEC you don’t like that’s your career you get me? You can research all of the Hospital Corpsman NECs online, it should be available to you, if you cannot find a list let me know! A lot of the NECs have the capability to be applicable into the civilian world. Once you get to that stage in your career don’t hesitate to ask your leadership and or peers for help in doing so. Or you can even reach out to me and i’ll do my best to guide you and I’ll ask around for you.

Awe!!! This journey is bittersweet. Have you received your “I made it safe call” ? I’m glad this video could give you somewhat peace and insight to what he will be going through in the next few weeks. If you want to know more watch the making of a sailor videos it’s real and raw footage of bootcamp. The only way you can find out his address will be once he sends you a “form letter” which gives you information about graduation date and times and rules. That form will have every piece of information you need it also includes his division number and address to the “ship” that he will be living in for the next eight weeks. The fastest way for him to receive a letter will be through an app called Sandboxx not sure if you’ve heard of it but basically delivered your letters overnight we can be a bit expensive but worth it for the encouragement and the thought of you knowing that he’s been receiving your letters because when writing through like regular mail and putting a stamp on it we often call it snail mail because it does take a long time for it to arrive at Great Lakes and also if it’s a while for him to send out a letter because he only has one we have any bags out letters can typically take like 5 to 14 days to arrive to him and also to you.
@kellypriscilla7182 жыл бұрын
I have you looked into Facebook groups if not I have one that is incredible! It’s great for encouragement on the days where you’ll miss him the most, and there’s also other loved ones that write about what they receive in their letters and the encouragement from everyone is awesome.

How you get stuff when you go to A school? (Clothes, laptop etc ) you can’t bring too much to bootcamp because if it doesn’t fit in the box it has to be given away right ? Your family ship you a luggage or you buy new stuff once in A school ?
@kellypriscilla7183 ай бұрын
The box you pack up in bootcamp with your stuff you take gets sent to a storage facility and then you get it a few nights before graduation but you can’t open it until graduation. Your family can bring you a suitcase with them to your graduation and take it to the airport the day you leave so that you can take it with you to A-School. They have to take it to the airport, they will not let you bring it back to RTC with you. You can also have your family mail you your clothes in a box once you get to A-School but that can get expensive. That’s unheard of. Recruits are not allowed to PT until cleared ‘Fit for full duty’ aka ‘FFD’ and that’s only the last day of P-Days and then the next morning you conduct your initial PFA. If that’s going on then that’s sketchy and at the risk of the RDC and then again they have rules that they are supposed to abide by and if they break them then they can get ‘sat down’ from being an RDC. I say this because I work at a recruit training command and this is the protocol for all recruit training commands.

Kelly, is it normal for recruits to feel like giving up at around the second week? Do a lot of recruits second guess their decision in the beginning of boot camp? Also, will I have a chance to see my son on the Saturday after graduation or just on the Friday? Thank you
@kellypriscilla7182 жыл бұрын
Hi David, yes it is very normal for them to feel like giving up. I sure felt like that and so did the people around me, as well as seconding guessing ourselves. A lot of said “i should’ve never joined” although It got better after week 3 and you begin to reel yourself back in and remember why it is that you made the decision to talk to a recruiter and why you said yes to joining. If your recruit is feeling like that just write them letters of encouragement and tell them to remember their “why”. Why they decided on the military, why they joined, and who motivates them/who they do everything in life for. Once they think about that it’ll all click and change for them. As far as seeing your son for graduation, typically it is only the day of graduation unless their A-School is in great lakes and then you’re able to spend the whole weekend with them. Do you know what job your son picked upon joining ?

@@kellypriscilla718 My son is Nukes, so he will be heading to SC. I was hoping he might not leave Great Lakes until Sun or Mon so that we could spend the entire weekend with him. I have to let my friends know because they’re all adults with jobs and I have to let them know in advance. Thank you I’m advance.

Hi! So it’s different for each training group. But as of right now if im not mistake it’s only 2 people allowed to attend the graduation per graduating recruit. But you are allowed off base after graduation so you’re more then welcome to just meet with your friends after the ceremony outside of the gates or even at their hotel. Bootcamp is 10 weeks long, you find out your graduation date in P-Days so whenever your write your letters to your friends you can let them know through their letters of course.

In regards to run just start running now like twice a week maybe three times. Get that in your routine so when you get to RTC it’s not like a shocker to your body. For your first run if things have stayed the same since i went through RTC, you have 17 min and some seconds to make the 1.5 run. You NEED to pass that run to start training if not you get held back.
