Thanks for the info! I am leaving for RTC on Feb. 10, 2022 and going in as an HM. These were nice and helpful videos. I actually went to RTC back in 2019 but got hurt and was medically discharged. Two years later I finally got all the approvals and my second chance. And just in time as I am turning 40 in April so I have to get in before that. I am looking forward to it this time, succeeding and making it to San Antonio after TEN weeks of boot camp in 2022. Hooyah Navy!

@@ftapon Yes indeed, I have been definitely putting a lot more effort into my physical fitness this time around. I'm sure with the extra two weeks of "life skills" classes, I could teach them a thing or two! lol

Hi. Thank you so much for these videos especially the one on the swim test as I was nervous about that. I ship off to RTC on January 31, 2022. I go in as a SN/PACT ( undesignated). Thank you for these videos, extremely helpful. After bootcamp I will come back and update you guys how it went. I am so excited to start a new chapter of my life at 21 years old. Hooyah

I know this video is 2 y/o but… I’m scratching my head over the nose ring in an official USN uniform. I know I retired in 2011 but… I know a lot of regs have changed since my days. That just isn’t one I can see changing. Back in 91’-92’ I didn’t want to join the Navy because I didn’t want to cut off my hair. Then when I did join I literally had to fight tooth and nail for HM A school. I had a contact undesignated and went back told my recruiter I wasn’t going unless I had HM in writing. Females had to score higher on the ASVAB just to get into the military and the billets were far fewer and in between at each MEPS. But to this day I’m still pissed that they stopped making females stop cutting their hair. Oh believe me we did not have time to fix our hair even having to get up 30 minutes before our male shipmates. I was in an integrated company in Orlando. Ok I’ve said my peace.

Why are you pissed? If they changed after you should be happy for future females. You sound bitter and a miserable person to be around

Can family visit? Should we visit or attend A school grad? After graduation do you get liberty to fly back home?
@ftapon6 ай бұрын
Yes, your family can visit you during A-school. You'll need to pre-clear them so they get through the security gate. There are hotels on the base where they can stay. You have limited free time on most weekends. After graduation, you have a couple of days to return home. Usually, the military gives you 10 days of liberty to move to your new duty station. The military does provide up to 10 days of leave in the form of Permissive Temporary Duty (PTDY) in conjunction with a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move. This leave will facilitate house hunting and settling into the new duty station.

How does family visitation work during a school?
@ftapon2 жыл бұрын
Visiting on weekends is best. I think during phase 1 day allow it, but if they don't, definitely during phase two. If your family member does not have a military ID then you will need to get them approved. Officially, they are not allowed to go into your dorm. But you can take him out to a restaurant that is on base or go shopping at the commissary together. There are hotels also on base. I'm talking about fort Sam Houston, where they train corpsmen and medics.

Can you skip ahead in A School if you have EMT-B?
@ftapon Жыл бұрын
I'm 90% sure that you cannot skip ahead of A-school, even if you are an MD. But if you're #1 of your class, you will get your first choice duty station, so go for that!
