I am glad you were there at the right time and right place to actually capture of them saluting each other. That was my first time seeing something like that. Thank you and well done. A+ 😊

Wtf did i just witness? A serviceman walking down the street with a plastic cup of beer in his hand in full view of the public and his officer. Ok.... that's not what used to happen when I was in the forces. Is that the acceptable standard now.

It's the RN, you'd be surprised with what matelots can get away with that similar army ranks would have the average pongo getting his head torn off. Besides, he was in company with two snr rates & four pigs (officers), so he must of been given the green light, assuming it was actually beer & not just some wierd looking goffer.

@@markmaher4548 From what I can see, the Naval officers and ratings are submariners. Even so, being Ex RN, I was surprised to see a rating and officer not wearing their caps and drinking some sort of beverage - guess times have changed

Under his arm, as per regulations, if an officer doesn't wish to be samuted, he can remove his head gear.

I totally agree also not wearing his hat, he should be on a charge .

@@paulwatson4304No he shouldn't. There's no offence under KR&R RN he could be charged with.
