I was "OVERPAID" 1 month, coming back from overseas deployed, 1981, was told, when brought it up, to a Federal Employee, "WE DON'T" make MISTAKES ! Like you Enlisted do! 1 year later, Treasury sent me a "LETTER" "PAY BACK" or we coming for "YOU" ! So yeah, I CRY, for this "O". 🤣

I went a year without getting paid for drills in the Marine Corps. I'm now active in the Army, and my base pay is 700 dollars short a month. Retention has lost my paper work 3 times and I'm coming up on 5 months with my pay being jacked up.

Different gubment organization but I had to jump a lot of 'rank' to get my missing checks, yea plural fixed. Just a few years back. I knew a handful of warrior officers. Most I saw as bureaucrats. Maybe a jaded view. Keep it up Stoker.

After the 3rd time I didn't get paid I requested captains mass and the department heads , mine and supply maid sure I was paid that day. They did not want me to c the captain over this

It took me over a year to get my pay back from PCS with monthly inquiries. Dude who was in charge of our S1 for recruiting was an old civilian. He messed so many peoples paperwork up and even with multiple levels of command getting involved it still took them that long to fix my stuff. Dude got “force retired” very shortly after. I’ve seen soldiers get article 15’s for taking leave using their current monthly LES leave balance that didn’t reflect their previous leave adjustment. Basically they got hit with “lying” about how much leave they had because the correction to leave balance didn’t hit the LES yet. Pretty wild stuff. Soldier was pretty well-to-do as well. Just didn’t check his LES.

From my understanding you can have your CO (not sure if its BN level or higher) authorize for certain debts to be forgiven. It's for anyone, enlisted or officer. It's situation dependent and most people don't know about it so they don't even ask for it

I have done this for a soldier before. It is tough to do as you have to prove the SM attempted to correct it.

You need to be raising hell from the bottom of your chain to the top and at the pay office every month with documentation.

I retired in Dec 2022, you would think common sense DFAS would mail a W2. NOPE. Have had to send a fax request, have done this 2x already and still have yet to get it. Asked the lady on the phone how can I track to ensure they receive it, she said you can't as it's a separate area. So had to file a tax extension and still having to send the same fax over and over, costing me time and money every time. So I know has nothing to do with this video, but if you owe, you owe. They will collect faster than they will send out an adjustment. Sad thing in the pay system, I know first hand as I had to help one of my Soldiers get it fixed as there is zero accountability for it. The clerks where give every bit of information they asked for and more, it took months even while deployed to get his pay fixed. It would get input, a month and half later had to do it again. If there any process that's broken in the military, definitely pay corrections and adjustments.

Oh man! Yeah, it’s a huge transition with all kinds of unknowns. Out of curiosity can you still access MyPay for the W2, or does that change when you retire?

@Bill Stoker I lost access to it on cac side and I don't think the DS login is available for my pay. It may be different for you as you'll be right off title 10 where mine was traditional nat.guard. but damn sure to ask that and find out. Still has that way of pissing me off because it's something so simple, but yet they make it difficult just to get a W2. Can't email the request to a human, noooooo. That's too simple. It's a fax machine that sits in the corner they don't pay attention to. Make sure 100% you create your DS login before your cac expires. Be way easier, I tried it and messed it up. Otherwise it's kind of a PITA.

There’s nothing wrong with being critical of officers when they are wrong. That being said, publicly ridiculing your fellow service members as an NCO is very unprofessional. As a lowly former specialist, I am extremely disappointed in you.
