They do allow civilians to swim at this pool. Mon-Fri 1pm-3pm they offer coached swim training for candidates interesting in joining NSW. You won’t always run the O Course but sometimes you’ll get to try out a few obstacles

I heard that one of the first things you have to do for Navy Seal training, is that you have to hold your breath under water for three minutes without having one air bubble rise to the surface. If that's the case, then I would fail. It's amazing what these elite soldiers can do.
@Minsang1st
@Minsang1st 3 жыл бұрын
To hold your breath for that long its best that you don’t breathe out, so they go hand in hand, not against each other

You can enlist and ask to go to BUD/S right out of Basic. They set you aside and put you through a preliminary examination, like a tougher version of MEPS, and if you don't make the cut they find you another job.

@cooljackdesert the attrition rate for those schools are incredibly high, scout sniper is like 60%, seals are like 75% and recon marines are 60% but its very hard to get a spot in the selection. And surviving the cut is only a small part of what its about and its not really entirely accurate, they show only a small part of what goes into each selection process.

Back in my home country Finland every single over 18-years old man has to go trough at least 12 months long military training, and after that you can qualify for different types of special troops. By myself I'm planning to try to get in the Finnish Navy (SukK). In SukK you have to be able to resist extreme conditions really well, and be still able to make smart choices. For example, we have to spend 72 hours in the Finnish wilderness when it's like -40 cold. Crazy.

@BrentVIDSZ the funny thing is, it is meant to help them lower stress levels when climbing an exercising over/in/around water. also funny thing is, while we have no wars going on where there is a body of water, DEVGRU (seal team 6) has been, and is still operating off the coast of somalia dealing with pirates all the time so think before you post

Exactly. I've worked with the fire department, and during a drill I had to drag a dead weight 180lb dummy down a flight of stairs on my own. The men couldn't help and get a grip on it. Anyway - I'm strong, but that was truly an awful awful but eye opening experience. There's just no way, even with adrenaline pumping, for a woman to be able to do that as fast as a man could.

@WesleyMAdams Correction, Delta Force are the most elite personnel in the world. They recruit from the SEALs, Rangers, and the Marines. Only the best of the best make it to Delta.

@eLKirk23 12 жыл бұрын
DEVGRU (SEAL Team 6) and Delta are considered the two most elite US forces. They are the only two Tier 1 counter terrorism units our country has. They each recruit from their own respective branch, DEVGRU exclusively from the SEAL teams and Delta from Army special forces (green berets) and special operations (rangers). Probably the two most elite fighting forces on Earth, but I won't put one above the other. Both are elite.

no, there is no benching requirement, they don't care how much you can lift. Just be able to do 100 pushups in 2 minutes 100 situps in 2 minutes 20+ pullups in one set and run 1.5 miles in 9:30 and you are in good enough shape to make it through BUD/S(as long as you don't give up)

10 miles in 1 hour is definitely a good benchmark, if you can do that you should be good, and 6 miles a day 5 days a week is not good enough. If you are serious, expect to run the equivalent distance of a marathon every day in BUDS.
