Careful with the Split Fix. I suspect that the AFT might deem them as redesigning the firearm to an SBR. The stiffer strap is justifiable, but the little Velcro piece that goes around the split in real sketchy.

Built a 556 AR for my car similar to yours. Shot it indoors and outdoors only to discover it was too loud. Without hearing protection the firearm would certainly cause permanent hearing loss. Remember, in emergency scenario you don't have time to apply ears.

I run the same "pistol" as my home defense setup, right down to the Surefire 762 can & coupled mags. Only differences are I run an Aimpoint T-2 red dot, a Black Rain Ordnance trigger, a Blue Force Gear sling & no side-folder. Oh yeah, & I used black duck tape to keep the brace from splitting.

I have a question with that short of a barrel for that caliber is that pistol still viable with the amount of velocity lost. And would the effective range of the pistol be cut way down because of how short it is? Reason I ask is because I am looking into getting a ar pistol but don't know if I want to go 10.5 or under
@fredruiz6094
@fredruiz6094 3 жыл бұрын
What’s your intended purpose/range? This is an urban vehicle stored pistol. I don’t plan to hunt large game or do any long range with it. But, I have effectively shot this to 350 yards accurately. I’m sure it has more. Plenty good for my purposes. These things are like shoes. You don’t wear the same pair of shoes for all occasions do you?

I don't understand what you meant by switching to the 762x39 for a bigger opening? You are just looking for a larger caliber option?
@fredruiz6094
@fredruiz6094 3 жыл бұрын
There’s a possibility that because the barrel is so short it may not stabilize and tumble and that could cause a baffle strike. There’s some pressure issues as well potentially. Maybe. Maybe not. I’ll just go the 7.62 route and call it a day.
@brandtjustsayin
@brandtjustsayin 3 жыл бұрын
Hes talking about a 7.62 suppressor/silencer. Its like putting an oversize muffler on your smaller engine so the burnt gas can flow through easier. In this case, the larger opening at the business end allows more unburnt gas to escape with less back pressure and possible damage to the suppressor. Also, allows a larger margin of error should the unstabilized bullet wobble coming out the end (common on a 5.56 w/short barrel as a 20-21 inch barrel stabilizes a 5.56 round best). Instead of striking the internals of the suppressor and destroying a tool that took many months and likely thousands of dollars to get, its a small tradeoff that allows a small margin of error insurance. Finally, a 7.62 suppressor can be moved and used on .22 (if you had to), 5.56, and 7.62 (7.62×39, .308, 7.62×51) rifles for more diversity of use from a single suppressor. If you tried to fire a 7.62 through a 5.56 dedicated suppressor, the suppressor (and likely the barrel) would be toast. But a 5.56 through the bigger 7.62 suppressor? No problem. It may not suppress "as much" sound but will still work well and make a noticeable difference.

Not sure if you know or not, but the SB Tactical SBA3 pistol brace is NOT ATF approved. ATF sent an official letter to SB Tactical saying they consider it an SBR. Modifying a SBA3 brace with a split fix is also NOT an ATF approved modification. A 10 yr prison sentence and federal felony charge is no joke.

The bolt won’t shoot out the back. If you have a round chambered, you can fire one round with the LawTac folded. Then you would have to close the LawTac, chamber a round and continue on firing. So it doesn’t make any sense to fire with it open, since you only have one round, and then you’d have to close and rack it... but yes, you can fire with it open. Lunar Concepts Split Fix Strap... Not saying this was a bad video... but just a suggestion... maybe prepare a bit before filming. Know what you’re going to say. Know what the companies and products are. There’s a lot of people that are going to want to copy your build, and/or look up products you’re using.

I have the same pistol with the same law tactical folder and a Timney trigger. I don't compete. Optic: One single AWOTAC Polymer Black Fiber Optic Flip-up Rear Sight with Green Dots. Mounted 1-inch aft of the muzzle-end of the rail. Strike Industries - Stabilizer for AR Pistol Something to think about, i.e., isn't a red dot a single sight? Seriously, 6-MOA red dot or 8-MOA ghost ring? A ghost ring needs no battery. How far ya plan on shooting this pistol before you'd grab a rifle? Without a light, loaded with a 30-round Lancer, and swapping the PWS CQB Gen-2 Comp with an M16A2 Flash Hider, I'm at 7-lb. 1-oz - Your rig can't be under 9-lb. No cut intended, just objectively weighing the facts for anyone reading this comment. Truly, I'm still deciding whether I need to swap the muzzle device back to OEM and get a light? Excellent review, I have subscribed.

It's absurd to have a 7" 5.56 gun with a folding buffer mechanism, rather than having a 7.62x39 AK pistol with folding brace. 5.56 needs to be traveling around 2500 fps for optimal terminal ballistics and it's probably not even leaving the barrel at that speed out of that length barrel. 300 Blackout would be a much better choice for an AR platform but it's also much more expensive.

@@ptgworldwide4727 💯 🤣. That’s what irks me about the KZbin gun community. Everyone is too focused on minor details like above, to realize what a gun is used for: Protection and if need be, to be part of a militia if we are invaded. Like arguing hollow points versus FMJ, or $3000 rifle versus $600. Granted they all are different but at the end of the day, they’ll do what they’re designed for and it’s better than having nothing at all. Best alternative get what you need based on what you can afford at the time. When time and money is readily available, upgrade to another option and sell of what you no longer need to someone else (legally lol) . Before people dedicate money on getting the most expensive gun on the market, I and other experienced gunners , always suggest taking training classes (beginners to advanced) . Went

I like your overall AR build...it's just that introducing potential mechanical failure points at critical points is a big NO for me (the law folder). Murphy's law does exist you know... If you want a foldable AR, buy one that is designed from the ground up to do so, like a piston driven AR folder (brn180, sig mcx/virtus, etc) or even an AK. I get it though, you're not a gunsmith/engineer, just remove that lawtac and you'll be good to go...at least you don't have a bad lever lol

Long story short, I now keep her as my EDC all you need is a quick release leash and mouth gag. I understand to each their own.... I would ditch the sling, the reason being its a bitch of a snag master, snagging all sorts of things exiting your truck/vehicle... unless you use a heavy rubber band system to coil up the sling and thus immensely limiting snaging and still providing rapid sling deployment once you have exited the vehicle. also, I would use the Lancer AWM system (smoked mags being able to see your rounds for count) 60 rounds instead of Magpuls a little more cost for the setup but well worth the cost, just my opinion .....

Why optics on a close range weapon? How is that better than fix iron sights? Which is easier to acquire optics or iron sights? I know night time is a different question. And if you weren't in the Military, I don't need to hear from keyboard warriors.

1 focal point instead of 2 so you can threat focus, finding a dot is a lot quicker than aligning 2 post.

Optics. This is the way. Irons as backup.

Nice my.man. I always wonder almost no one has slings for a weapon system like this. KZbin "gun" people. It's drives me nuts....along with a lot of their other awful habits/mechanix. I get they're not professionals, but still😂

How can you be a SEAL and fuck up the nomenclature within mere seconds of the video? I truly expect more from elite warriors...present and past
@TacticalHyve

Your expectations might be too high...they are soldiers, not necessarily gun nerds. Many take the 'tools' they are provided and know how to use them, but they don't need to know many things inside and out.

If no one says anything how is he supposed to know to fix it. Also since this is the performance critical post i will say there is some echo or microphone artifact that is distracting. Might want to look at that closely. Still thanks for posting to the youtuber really intrested in this setup.

I hate it when ppl refer this type of set up a “truck gun” like wtf are you some sort of highway trucker that gets high jacked all the time? People that don’t even own a truck still call it their “Truck Gun” . People are stupid.
@chuckclark6162
@chuckclark6162 3 жыл бұрын
Truck gun refers to a rifle or shotgun that you keep in your truck, usually behind or under the seat(s). Trunk gun is the same for those without a truck, except it is kept in the trunk. You are the stupid one.
