I don’t think anyone recommended the “snake bit kits” anymore. Much of the contents (scalpel and suction) will cause more damage and complications than just getting a person to the hospital (or alternative First Aid).

@@tinsoldier5621 They “went out of fashion” with doctors. A lot of studies determined that the “snake bite” kits (suction devices and scalpels) didn’t work. Much like medical science at one time shunned tourniquet use. Not anymore. The times changed. I don’t think anyone will advise cutting a snakebite and applying suction anymore… period. For any snake species. For some they will tell you to seek medical care… immediately. For some bites you might be advised to do nothing.

Wow, this makes my head hurt, especially since I spent my first 15 years in the Navy, Flying P-3s and my last 5 as a SERE Instructor. WHY are you in a flight suit? I have 10,000+ hours flying and would not want to evade in a flight suit if I have BDUs available. That flashlight is so last century, there a MUCH better options available that can put out more or less light than that POS. One quart isn't close to being enough water on you. If you are going to have a poncho, have a poncho liner as well! Then there is the lack of .020 safety wire for making snares and I didn't see a fishing kit, especially being that close to water.

He was a LERP with ranger, airborne , jungle, and plenty of other schools. Actually saw combat. He’s qualified and he’s only wearing it because that’s what they wear at work where he teaches it. Try not being a know it all nerd this man is way more qualified than you will ever be.
