Not just Salman Khan...but also Shah Rukh, Akshay Kumar ("ek bas topic pakad letey hai"), etc. A lot of our older main role heroes do the same kinds of films. That's why more and more people are rejecting Happy New Years and Tiger Zinda Hai's and turning to Ayushman Khurana, Rajkumar Rao, Vicky Kaushal, Nawazuddin Sidiqqui films. They bring something very real and relatable to the screen and show the nuances of our society and the vulnerability of ordinary man. After these people came out with their movies, other leading actors and actresses tried to copy the "orindary/janta" types of roles (Anushka Sharma & Varun Dhawan in Sui Dhaaga).
