Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Nandita Das on 'Manto' | VICE Talks Film

In this episode of VICE Talks Film, actor-director Nandita Das and actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui talk about their movie, 'Manto'. The film is a biopic on the life of the influential and controversial author Saadat Hasan Manto, woven through his most famous stories and the struggles he faced for 'obscenity' in his writing. Das and Siddiqui speak, amongst other things, most notably about their process of understanding Manto as a person and character, trying to distil his work and what he stood for into film. They also speak about how Das still owes Siddiqui the rupee he charged to work on this film.

Nandita Das is beautiful to look at, even more beautiful to listen to and I can only imagine what pleasure must it be to converse with. IMO she is the most beautiful woman in all of Bollywood. What makes her most beautiful isn't just what she looks like, but what she is.

Those were the days of British monarchy and rules of justices were taken precisely and of course it was very well done in short periods of times too. British government always wanted and listen too peoples like Manto and still they wants and welcomes to HAVE YOUR SAY So Manto was lucky enough that what curses he faced, he had an opportunity of liberal era to expresses those difficulties by all means without fear, but nowadays if you go and do a bit like so, you wouldn't be returned home alive, some politicians first and next some Hindu Muslim or Wahabi Shiites or some Brahmans Syed's etceteras would definitely kill you down the streets or on the spot.It's very ferocious and radical era are in the run specially in Muslim's and in our country.
