I was a noob around this time and didn’t understand loot to class priority. Needless to say I rolled on it and took it for my hunter at the time. About a month later, as I began to understand the game and classes more regarding gear, I felt like shit lol.

back in wrath tho is had agility on it, the attack power on it and everything else on it in conjunction made it their best 2h dps weapon till ulduar came out. basicly getting a str 2h with like 80str would only give you 160attack power, that gave 226 attack power, crit and haste were good as well, also agility gives crit and armor. so it was basicly best in slot for awhile.

I remembered I won this axe back when I first raided with my dk with mostly blue gear. Rolled a 98 the Betrayer was mine. It was a pug. Lucky for you guys back in wrath where raiding often. I wasn't due to that my gear sucked and I was in an unforgiving guild. I didnt even had a 50/50 chance on raiding with heroic blue items. The weapon was my savior for my dk to be known as a high damage 2hander frost dk that time. Betrayer of Humanity got me into a raiding guild called Seventh Plague.

Back in the days, attack power was number 1 stats for pretty much every melee class. So this weapon was best in slot for paly ret, warriors, hunter and DK.

A few of the comments show that they're confused at this being a warrior axe. Wotlk melee main stat for damage was AP and weapon damage / speed. The damage this weapon gave for dk / warrior / ret pallies was by far the best at the current content, with the 2nd being Armageddon. For hunters it was just a stat upgrade as the most part of their damage came from their bow. BoH was the best wep for 2hndr melee by far regardless of the agility

For those that don't know and are new to wow. Reserving loot use to be a thing. Many of the main raiders had specific pieces of gear reserved for them to increase dps, survivability, and utility. This guy clearly didn't understand that the axe wasn't going to be his but he doesn't have to. It's evident to everyone but him that the axe was reserved so that's his problem and not the raid leaders. This weapon back in wrath was one of the best 2 handed weapons in the game and caused literally dozens of raid groups to disband.

This was good for warriors when it was around. The attack power to replace the str bonus for AP and the agility to replace what would have been crit as well as a crit bonus on top of that. It could be for warrior or hunter.

joe carmack Warriors still benefited from Agility in Wrath at a value of 1 Attack Power per point (as opposed to 2 Attack Power per point from Strength). That, plus the insane high-end damage, made it best-in-slot for Arms warriors in t7 content.

Most decent guilds would award this to a warr, DK or ret pally first. If one guild were lucky enough (or unlucky enough, considering how many lovely weaps KT has) to see this drop enough to go to all dps warrs, DKs and ret pallies, then not having a class tag on it allows hunters to use it. And for a lot of hunters it was an upgrade to their stat stick.

Armageddon had less attack power and crit rating. Betrayer also has haste rating which makes it so much better than Armageddon. It is a bit of a weird comparison though

I'm not sure when you joined WoW, but before LFR, and raids were actually hard for even guild groups, people reserved items because they didn't want to waste HOURS of their time just to lose the drop to someone else. It also had a side effect of evening out the classes. Two hunters join the same raid, one of them has the ranged weapon already or doesn't care about it. This happens when someone doesn't pay attention to loot rules or loot reserves.

Guilty here are raid leaders, they needed to specifically whisper, explain and clearify to those who even mentioned the weapon as to what will happened. Also, the guy at 1:32 was twisting shit. This might have been misunderstanding, even so the leader and his friends were defending each other and justifying why THEY should get the Axe.This is why I hate non friendly random guilds. Knew few where leaders would lure people and ninja shit. And those that joined would leave empty handed. Time wasted

Meh, i thought mop was pretty good to be honest. Cata's biggest mistake was just the general overall changes being made, homogenization of the classes, deleting the old 1-60 overworld instead of keeping it and having it compliment the revamp 1-60. The deleting of the old overworld was cataclysm's biggest mistake to me. We had ranged bags removed and gun pouches. No one really minded, but i did. Thought it was stupid not having a quiver on my hunter anymore, and the model for the nerubian quiver looked bad ass to. Now we have microtransactions among other things, for max lvl toons through real money, and it is just so stupid. I miss actually having to level up through in game means. Other than all that stuff, it truly is the same grind every expansion.

Letting hunters use melee weapons was always a flawed concept in WoW. When Blizz removed the derp stick out of their ass and took that away from them, melee weapons stopped being stat sticks (excluding Int weapons) and were set aside for people who actually USED them which should have been the case from the very beginning.
