the references for this music videos are 2000's divas pop music!! her student outfit kinda remember of britney spears, the dance break outfit remember remembers beyoncé, also the instrumental in the 2nd part of the chorus really remember us of crazy in love by beyoncé the fact that her knee pads were made out of a louis vuitton bag, just like her pink outfit from POP was made out of a limited edition louis vuitton towel... also the amount of outfits she has for ABCD and POP is amazing, her stylist is really the best!!!!! I'm so proud of nayeon, she really outdid herself with this album. all songs are so different from IM NAYEON, I already see her best female artist award from mama coming again!!!!

Greetings! And thank you for your entertaining reaction video and essay on Nayeon's "ABCD" music video! :) Since you asked (and let's face, it no one really had the answer anywhere), I went and go look for myself about the painting on Nayeon's clothing, so you can know more about it yourself! And fortunately, I was able to gather a lot of information :) So as far as I can tell, there was no major alteration to this piece of clothing; it all comes from a current "Vivienne Westwood" collection of corsets with imagery based on classical paintings and arts. The one Nayeon is wearing is titled "Sunday corset top" on their online store (only going for a cool 2 000$). The description text accompanying the item mention that is is "inspired by the romance and nostalgia of classical art, this corset incorporates an enlarged screen print of the 'Hercules and Omphale' painting by François Boucher on both sides of the design." So there you go! Now we know something that I bet even 99.99% of TWICE and Nayeon fans doesn't know! :D

This song is too good! It’s so catchy and fun. I think you were mixing What Is Love and Cheer Up since they both have black and white scenes as well as different movie references. I believe Everything Everywhere All At Once was the movie reference you were on the cusp of as Nayeon shows multiple versions of herself all causing havoc. I think the tail on ABCD was also a reference to herself in TT in that devil headband and tail.

It's soooo catchy! I was very much thinking of What is Love!! Everything Everywhere All At Once was the one!! I know a lot of people have said that there are a lot early 2000s pop and R&B references (Beyoncé, Britney, etc). But my mind always goes movie references first lol

Her album is SO GOOD! Every single song is Title Track material 100%. ABCD is giving me alot of "One Thing by Amerie" and I ABSOLUTELY love it. ( Literally the ooh oh oh in the dance break is the exact same ) instrumental def got some hints (probably sampled or they used the same sound palettes) of Crazy in Love by Beyoncé also. She just SLAYED so hard honestly

Huh I never knew about the knee injury, it's impressive how intense the choreo for this and Pop is knowing that (and just Twice songs in general). Also I can't take her serious even in MVs like this where she's killing it I know the behind the scenes is going to be her bursting out laughing constantly.

I happened when she was younger to her left leg. There are times you can tell when it's hurting her or she'll mention it flaring up 😔 I also agree with you, I can never take her seriously she's just way too funny bts, so I know she's having a blast and joking around LOL

Like you I usually look for the movie reference, which they do a lot. The chorus hit me hard but when they switched to the street scene my mind went immediately to "West Side Story", the walking in the rain reference I got an American in Paris (I'm old I watched these movies when the first can out lol) then I noticed the umbrellas so maybe the walking was rain and the table scene Paris not sure, I wait for more opinions but that was my first take (the ending logo I saw a Devils tail). I normally choice the red outfit as her best but for the first time I'm going with the black and white outfit with the glasses, you think princess diaries (what is love) but Twice doesn't tend to repeat a concept but I'll bow to your choice since I'm not sure. The dance break reminded me of Momo so I wonder if she had a hand (foot) in the choreo and the excuse me moment (I call it the MJ moment) might be a subtle slap at the censors which would be classic Twice. Many forget that Nayeon was listed as lead dancer at debut so her slaying a dance break didn't surprise me. A lot of western influence on this song (POP was pure Kpop) some think Beyoncé but I'm going with Britney Spears either way this song was perfect. Finally I think Nayeon got one over on us again, during the One Spark era she was saying she was a good driver and people would be surprised at how good a driver she could be and boom car crash to start her M/V, Opps she did it again (get the bun there). OT9 forever (TIMELESS).

The way this video was giving me all 2000's BoA swag dance feels! Nayeon is truly an ace! 🐇 So the painting on her shirt that you are thinking of is 'Hercules and Omphale' a painting by François Boucher. She is wearing the "Sunday" corset top by the designer Vivienne Westwood, I was able to identify it right away! Also notice the callback to the "One Spark" choreography at 6:23 with the Louis Vuitton kneepads! 😍
