Reid is pretty raw, but his game should really translate to the NBA. I’m surprised that he’s not higher on draft boards, he’s got a lot of potential. Why not pick him higher? Gonna be a sleeper IMO. Reminds me of Caleb Swanigan.

Man he's a prototypical stretch big at the next level. His intellect seems to be adequate. He can shoot, handle it and work on the block. I need to see what type of defender he is to determine how his game will truly translate to the NBA. But offensively he the talent for sure. If he can defend. Top 15 pick is where I would rank him if he declares.

I like him. I'm a huge fan actually, since high school. Devastated he's not coming back. I think he has lottery potential. If he stayed and preserved eligibility, he could make over 2 mil in his first year. Arrogance is the mistake of all these 5 star recruits. They're not very smart, but very prideful. He was very promising last year, but very raw, and most of the time he was not a real factor. All the mocks say he's going to go in the 2nd, some say that even is optimistic. But of course he thinks they don't know what they're talking about, though they do. He'll not be guaranteed a contract, even if he signs one it will be 800k. If you're a projected lottery pick then one and done is great. If you're on the borderline of not getting drafted, then...again, why so arrogant? He needs to work on his handles, particularly dribbling lower. He wants to play like a guard, which means he has to lose weight. A lot of weight. These are all long term projects. Even one year is very generous. Big guys develop later. I'm sad because I've seen this story many times before, it always ends the same way. I still hope the best for him, but clearly his greatest weakness isn't in his hands but in his head.

@@semaj6720 I do. He spent 4 years making close to the league min before signing his first real contract. Aaron Nesmith, a strictly worse player, was the 14th pick in the ensuing draft, signed a contract for 11 million in 3 years out the gate, which is almost double the 6 million Naz Reid made in his first 4 years. This, again, despite the fact that Reid is a substantially better player. I never thought he was an untalented player and that's not what I said in my comment either. And maybe he won't look back and miss the 5, 6, 7 million that he missed out on, given his new contract. But if we're strictly speaking financially, was it a poor decision? Yes.

And this is not rehabilitated by the fact that he is getting more money later, because to be frank most athletes end up using up their money. So missing out on millions because of a poor and impulsive financial decision does in fact hurt.

No more one season and out recruits for the LSU basketball program! Let these fools go play somewhere else! We don't need these over rated "starlets". Let's recruit smart, talented kids, who are willing to give their very best effort while in college for at least 3 full seasons and, then move on to the NBA, in a timely fashion! Let's just remember the fiasco Ben Simmonds turned out to be while "playing" in Baton Rouge. The NBA should at least undertake the oain and effort to develop these high school super stars right out of high school or, even Junior high! These "players" do not belong in college! I rather settle for a good competitive basketball, LSU team. Instead of a team made up of these 16 - 17 year old "Pros"...
