I saw Nazareth in 1986 at the Cotillion Ballroom in Wichita KS. It's a small venue holding up to 2,000 spectators and that's what makes it even more spectacular. I remember thinking they sounded so much more metal live! When my parents divorced in 1976 (it was a bitter divorce), my dad would play this song over & over. He didn't want the divorce, and both parents fought for custody of us kids. My Dad is no longer with us, he passed May 2023. Hearing this song took me back to memories, long forgotten, painful memories, yet there is beauty in the memory and music. I miss him desperately

To me, this song sounds like the Book of Revelations in the Bible and I imagine it being the song played on The Day of Final Judgment and it also sounds like a prayer a prisoner of war says right before his execution. May God forgive us all for our sins and may you let our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, into your lives. And finally may we all learn to love our neighbors as ourselves. God Bless Brothers and Sisters!
@davidpage38938 ай бұрын
There’s a very true story about the recording of this song at the Kent Recording Studio where Hair of the Dog was recorded in 1975. While recording this track the band decided to take a break. Manny Charlton put his guitar on a stand next to an amplifier. When they came back Manny put on his headphones and heard a distinct feedback Wa Wa Wa Wa Wa which can be heard in the very beginning of this song. Being a very capable and good recording engineer that he was known to be he incorporated this unusual feedback in the final editing of Please Don’t Judas Me. Manny said he never heard that particular feedback before or after this song was recorded and couldn’t replicate that sound again after the recording of this song. He had the vision to use that audio feedback to give this song its unique sound that never has been heard before and since. To this day this type of audio effect hasn’t been heard or replicated. Great song.

For those who are wondering about the intro in the very beginning I have a cool story on that. I was friends with Manny Charlton, so he told me how this song came to be. He said the guys were recording in the studio and took a break. Manny said that when he went back in the studio he heard this faint * waa waa waa waa* and walked around to find where that sound came from. As it turned out, when the guys took their break Manny put his guitar on the guitar stand and it facing slightly toward the Marshal amp. That created basically a slight feedback sound we all know' hear. and love. Manny went to the mixer and recorded this feedback and the rest is history. -- Manny said he was never able to reproduce that sound again

@@davidpage3893 - Yeah, Manny told me that he had never bee able to replicate that that sound effect again. One thing I noticed about Manny, he had a good ear for certain tunes/sounds. Judas X ever ❤ Judas gave his life to carry out Jesus's plan for passover. God's mercy and love will save us all from hell on this earth. Thankyou Mate.

Judas is the real hero of the crucifixion of Christ, because he was chastised and beaten and hated, but he loved us all just like God and his son. Judas and all the disciples knew that Judas would be killed.
