Realistic players based on real seasons, buying boxes with MT, plenty of challenges for MT, No limitless range (other than Curry, who deserved it obviously), No speed boosting Hedos, No real cheese, No 12-0, No locking in collections, the list goes on. What I wouldn't give to play that game at its peak just one more day...

for some reason, people choose not to remember or try not to, but the reason why the gameplay felt off after 16 is because the 2k devs admitted that they struggled with finding ways to make AI Curry like his counter part, they were going to do it in 2k16, but they said it broke the whole system when they tested it, so they instead had limited time to enhance it in 2k17, which is why 2k17 is the most broken 2k of all time, because they focused much more on 2k16 than touching up on 2k17 3 point shooting and screens, and many stepback 3s, everyone asking them to go back to that engine, is basically you saying to take a stepback from modern basketball, and go back to old basketball from 2000s, 2k16 gameplay isn't timeless

I had a sick 2k16 player. Kobe if he was on The Suns. They traded for Pau Gasol my second year. We won rings. Started at the lowest overall, played every game (12 min/HOF) and every practice, got up to 98. Dude was the 🐐 . I had friends come over just to play as him.

I hope 2k pays some attention to these videos... This video perfectly hit the nail on some of the stuff I've been wanting in 2k for the last couple years. 2k16 is why I started using my league modes and simulating the game, and the simulator was WAY better. Like you said, there were so many stats you had access to, like True Shooting % and stuff like that. The game literally simulated how efficient players were. I remember 17 and 18 for being just a huge drop in quality from the games. Those years were when the bugs and brokenness of the game really came to light. I cant tell you how much time I sat at the load up screen staring at Paul George before I even see the 2k17 video... 16 wasn't like that tho. The game was really smooth and it wasn't crazy expensive either. I remember I spent a lot of money on the MyTeam but it was rewarding. Pink Diamonds and Diamonds were nothing like they are now, and I think the auction house was introduced in 16 (May have been 15 don't quote me on that). Apart from that the teams were so much more balanced. I used a Gold Westbrook card throughout the whole game, which in 2k16 was like an 89 overall, but now that would be like a 77 westbrook. Everything about it was just better, parks were better (even though it was cheesy like 15 was after the shot update) myteam was fairer, myleague was more detailed, the game was less buggy, the graphics were good. Something definitely changed at 2k between 2k16 and 2k17. In my opinion, 17 was when the micro-transactions got AGGRESSIVE and the game became less about being a basketball video game and more about how to monetize aspects of the game, and I hope 2k can look at 2k16 and bring the game back to what made people become fans to begin with.
