NBA2k just aint it in general any more. I never buy the game until its been out for a long time and its on sale for like 10 bucks. Then i play it for a week and check it out then uninstall it and never look at it again. I like the eras thing, a big hit of nostalgia going back to the 2000s. But myTeam is utterly and completely fckd now. Its so bad its funny. I understand that its probably just us getting old and growing out of the game. At the end of the day its a basketball game theres not going to be anything mind blowing, its going to be nba basketball. Its hard for any game to feel really awesome after youve played it for 10,000+ hours. They really need competition because they can do whatever they want.

Maybe. But I think microtransactions have completely destroyed sports gaming. I really can't see a game specializing in offline modes that can't be monetized and leaving all that money on the table for their competition. PC is really the only hope so the community can mod games and we can update rosters/ratings/animations more easily.

Sports games in general do not just 2k. Otherwise buying a sports game every year is bound to disappoint you so stop buying it. My NBA on 2k23 feels and looks exactly like 2k25 and there is no difference. We can download current rosters for free too so we don't need these marginal upgrades

It would be cool to see more animations such as free agency signings or jersey retirements actually animated in the game walk in entrances, interviews from players ring ceremony for older eras it would make it more interesting

as someone who plays mynba mostly, random players like greg oden will have wild random tendencies like shooting 3s, similar problems with some other big men. Partick Ewing is 6’9 for some reason. little things like that add up and make it feel like it wasnt/isn’t finished sadly. still the most fun i have though being able to draft some of my favorite all time players and see how they do

Played my league since 2k 15 and took a few years off (21, 22 and most of 23) but I must say in my opinion I think my nba eras is the best sports game franchise mode aside from College Football dynasty. I’m sure it has its flaws but the historic rosters are mostly great and is well done in areas like league rules and efforts in the draft classes. Always room for improvement ofc and repetitiveness I’m sure is an issue but I find it the least flawed compared to the other ones.

NBA 2K6 there was an online association mode that was absolutely flawless. It was the most fun I had with the game. Revamping that among cleaning up the many bugs/glitches and providing the mode in a way that doesn’t feel like they changed a layer of design and copy paste everything else

Make it functional for one. There are old 2k and old Madden games that are much better. NCAA 14 is better. CFB25 is much much better. Madden franchise mode is better than 2k at this point. MyNBA is a dumpster fire. Madden's player progression system alone blows 2k out of the water

Mygm has pretty much maxed out. Not really sure where you can go from here where the experience will be worth coming back to for extended periods of times. Yes you can make all these minor changes but the base part of it is not going to change. The only thing I could see people coming back for is if they made like a “city” type of thing where you can combine an nba, g league and wnba team into one whole franchise. Add college basketball stories and maybe show the ncaa tournament bracket of who wins and where the top stars are located. Add in fiba or World Cup games and you get to pick the roster as team USA or another country where there will be the mba players and a bunch of random generated players. All that to say you kinda need to add another league or aspect outside the nba to push this in a whole new era of franchise (only mlb has multi affiliate organizations). Being able to follow all things basketball as long as nba/wnba players are featured.

Maxed out? You're acting like simply _having_ a franchise mode is all there is to it. All those "minor changes" are what _make_ the experience worth coming back for. These modes are very hard to get right but they are quite simple: - good simulation engine - good player generation - good player progression - good user interface - good AI - good gameplay - immersive elements If you do those things right the game will be endlessly playable. 2k right now is a D or F in all of those. The stuff you're talking about adds to immersion but those things are _soooo_ far down the line. That's the cherry on top of the sundae. They can't even make edible ice cream.

There is so much they can do. How about fix the damn contracts during free agency to make it more realistic for every player? That would be a GREAT start. I’m tired of role players asking for waaay too much money. Also hate it when they do that but end up signing for the minimum on a random team. It makes no sense.
