As A person who buys madden and MLB the show every single year, I care about the quality and I don’t spend my money on the game after I get the game itself. They are the only licensed game of their individual sport. It doesn’t make sense for casual gamers to not buy a game when most of us are playing for fun aka no money spent. so I wouldn’t say all of them heck not even most of the people who buy it, every year spend tons more money. And definitely not all who pre-ordered either because we just want to play the game earlier than others, not necessarily, we can get better packs.

DO NOT BUY NBA 2K25 UNTIL ITS PATCHED. • MyCareer feels so clunky & unfinished. • Driving to the paint after a screen looks like the game is trying to decide which animation it chooses, so it makes your player slow or run into a invisible wall so the CPU can catch up. • Animations randomly speed up or slow down depending on if the defender is near. • CPU Teammates are more useless this year than last year & now the consistently miss wide open shots • They still cut in front or behind you when you shoot instead of away from you to crash the boards. • CPU opponent makes EVERYTHING (Ben Simmons made a HEAVILY CONTESTED fadeaway 3pter LOL) • You have even less control in MC so now you can only choose half court or full court defense. No other adjustments. • I've noticed progress to 99 is faster but it cost even more to upgrade your player (go figure lol) • MyGM has useless plots that go nowhere & repeat every season. • Shot Clock Cheese is worse than it was in 2k16 and that says ALOT • MC Rotations are broken so you'll play all game but your fatigue is low this year and tied to the gatorade arena so you HAVE to max each workout to get your full 99 stamina. • You'll miss a lot of shots due to low stamina. • The game will deliberately pull you away from the basket when driving to try for a layup, just so a defender can block it or forcing you to shoot a midrange shot. • CPU Teammates ALWAYS go under the screen so the CPU opponent can get uncontested shots. • Steph Curry is the worst teammate in history, he shoots the most ill-advised shots & barely makes them. Wide open or not, he rarely makes them, EVER lol Never played a 2K game this bad on release. Feel Free to add more in the comments.

6:53 honestly one of my biggest problems with mycareer through the years. how am I a top draft pick but im 10-15 overall worse than everyone at the same level as me? also nuts that it takes 200k VC to go from 60 to 85 when im pretty sure it wasnt even 100k vc back in like 2k17 (which was the last year that mycareer was fun tbh)

It's the same thing with Madden, The Show and NHL people will continue to play those games because it's what we got. I finally reached the point of waiting until they drop on PS Plus. Just got the Show 24 free this month and it's been enjoyable knowing I didn't pay for something that's not far off what I payed for last season. I wish the sports franchises would go free to play and then maybe all the micro transactions wouldn't feel so intrusive but they never will do that because people buy the game every year.

I really only played my career offline and really enjoyed grinding out the games and the storyline for vc, it made it feel way more realistic than jumping out the gate a 90 ovr. The fact that this year they open up the storyline with your player being a 99 ovr before immediately dropping them to a 60 is so obviously them trying to get players to pay for vc. It's like "oh look at how well you could be playing this game if you spend $20-$100+ for vc to make your player better instead of trying to grind." Each year the game came out, it got less and less personal, they stuck your player with the nickname "MP" since around 2020 and that just reeks of laziness. Then the story progression stopped matching the actual gameplay, in 2k11 you had to play in the summer league, in other 2k's, the whole basketball world doubted you would be any good. Now the storyline jump out the gate with you being a top prospect, leading to feeling that pressure of whether to buy VC or not because if you don't live up to the in game hype, you pretty much can't progress in the story. TL;DR The game feels like a glorified mobile app that you wasted money on.

You didn’t touch on how you can add 6 teams per season in your franchise; I’ve always been an advocate for your channel fam and how you always bring up how modes like franchise could become boring looking at the same number of teams in the league. There’s no limit to how many teams you can have in your franchise: imagine a 50 team franchise. Makes the chase for the playoffs that much better. I gotta give them credit for that.

I think we need an indie game developer to make an online basketball park/myplayer style game. It doesn’t have to be 2k or EA or even have NBA licensing. Myleague/franchise mode has long been unplayable after 10 or so years in game. Everyone’s overall inflates to be crazy high so teams run out of money to pay them and you have 88 overalls just sitting in free agency. The fact that this CRUCIAL issue hasn’t been addressed in YEARS is abhorrent. I can’t recommend a game when the company clearly doesn’t care.

I don’t think you went hard enough on this years mygm mode. The storyline at the start of your season every year? Yeah that just repeats EVERY YEAR. To make it worse, most of your choices, if not all, have no real repercussions to the actually game if you don’t complete them. So, what you’re really playing is mynba but constantly interrupted by unskippable cutscenes and needless gameplay loops to make it “seem” like you are doing something productive. The mode has loads of potential, but as it stands, it might be the worst game mode in any sports game in my opinion since it’s just a version of a mode already in the game, that is actively made unplayable past the first season.

Been saying it for YEARS! Mycareer needs to be it’s own separate mode. It will not have VC and will let you be able to max out your char via just playing the game. MyPark should be where you play online, with its own story, uses VC, and doesn’t have many story elements. We no longer need to limit the career mode experience behind VC and the online experience. I’m actually loving 2k this year. They made it easier for you to not fuck up a build. For example you can change the settings in your mycourt to rec settings so the delay is exactly like rec and you can work on your shot that way. SLIDING and SKATING all over the basketball court is great gameplay!?! All of this enormous amount of suction causing you to get stuck onto players on both ends of the floor is great gameplay?! Spot on. Best 2K of the current generation in terms of gameplay, but in my opinion, it is the most money hungry. Last year, I was able to hit 82 OVR in about 2 weeks without buying in-game currency. I've calculated that it'll take me about a month to hit 82 OVR this year. In other words, I have to wait a month to play online games semi-competitively. I already spent $70 on the game. Why do I have to spend another $50 to upgrade my player?

I never drop a single dollar on vc, imo three things are important: - at the start NBA Games only, gain enough VC to reach 70 OVR. - Get the best tier 1 badges for ur player. - once u reach 70, focus on getting some clothes so ur not a brown shirt guy no moe. Then you can try out park or city whenever u like

Best way to fix so many of these problems is to have an online overall you upgrade through the park and VC and the my career overall you upgrade through goals, challenges and gameplay (skill points or something) that way you can have a a mycareer superstar that doesn’t have skill caps and you can play offline and then still experience my park and overalls that way building archetypes. You get your my player and my park experiences separate. Then build the MyGm/My Eras with actual cutscenes would be cool, but at the very least some new customization for your office and practice facilities or something to make it feel like you’re in control. 2K is so close but they just let money block the last steps, whereas EA only sees money and forgets there has to be any love or improvement
