One very accurate stereotype of us in America is that we freaking love basketball. Even people who don't play wear the shoes. Some regions of the country are over the top, including the Midwest.(Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansas) My high school in Illinois had a 2200 seat gym, and big games get 10k easily playing at the local college arena. NBA tickets are crazy expensive, but they have no problem filling up. College hoops are so frenzied with support, it's nuts inside some of those buildings. Parks in every city have public courts.

@@chocolatechipslime I'm not sure. For one thing there should be parking due to it being near a train station, but that also means non-fans would also being using it due to the train station. I can understand why you chose daytime views of the arenas but I would have definitely preferred seeing them around dusk which is when they are operating during game days. A couple fun facts about Vivint arena in Utah. As for the current look of the arena it's actually only a couple years old. The covered entry outside was added along with a few other cool features. The building did also play home to a arena football team at one point. And a minor league hockey team until they built a arena of there own. Which was also used during the 2002 winter games. The black seats in Vivint replaced green seats that had been there since the building opened. And as far as the jazz one of the teams primary colors used to be purple. Might get a few extra points from you now huh!

Most positive about most arenas these days: Fantastic design. Worst: The recent trend of "lights out" on the fans, which makes the arenas seem cold and neutral since you can't appreciate their designs. The spot light on the court does seem to work in some arenas like MSG and Staples Center, but has completely destroyed the atmosphere in many others. Hopefully that trend will turn at some point. Best arenas in my opinion: Staples, ATX Arena, American Airlines Center, Ball Arena, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Golden One Center, Little Ceasars Arena, Chase Center and State Farm Arena.

AT&T Center is also home to the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, accounting for the neighboring barns. The domed structure next door is Freeman Coliseum, the original home of the rodeo (and again for the 2021 edition), also home to the WNBA's Stars one season when AT&T was under renovation, before they moved to Las Vegas. Speaking of which, how about the arenas of the WNBA? Some are shared with the NBA, but others aren't.

That’s what I hate about selling naming rights that don’t somehow incorporate the name of the city or something recognizable, such as “Invesco Field at Mile High” which is now “Empower Field at Mile High.” At least that way, you know it’s in Denver regardless of the sponsor.
@rchilde1 Жыл бұрын
Many of the NBA arenas are named after local companies. In Oklahoma City, Paycom Center is named after the company built and hq there; it's old name, Chesapeake Energy arena was also named for an OKC-based company. Interestingly, the arena's first name - Ford Center, was not local but names sense have been. One more note on OKC, not sure when the video was created but the area around Paycom Center is much different today than was shown. Also, OKC is in the beginning stages of a new arena, the likely location being across the street from Paycom where they will tear down the old convention center and build a much larger footprint arena possibly surrounding it with development LA Live style. Stay tuned, OKC is definitely on the rise.

What many who have not been to a WWE TV event in person realize is that they create the illusion of a full arena, but in reality they use only about 30 to 50% of the seats. They block off entire sections not only for the Titantron and entrance ramp, but usually one entire side (in part for placing TV cameras in just the right spots).
