I think that most European couches wouldn't be able to work in NBA mostly because of 3 things. 1. Very different mentality and culture in the sport, superstar power, casual regular season, tanking for draft picks 2. NBA, so far, was pretty closed for foreign coaches and I don't see that changing 3. There are many differences between NBA and FIBA basketball, some like abovementioned, are cultural, mentality and stuff like that but there are also differences in rules, from dimensions of the court, 3pt line distance to some in game rules. So like we already saw with players, being best player in Europe doesn't always translate to the NBA and also being a good NBA player doesn't mean that you will be good in Europe, I believe that it would be hard for coaches to adjust as well. But I don't see this happening, because if some NBA team would want to hire a EL coach, they would like for one of the most accomplished coaches and there is very little motivation for these coaches to go to NBA, they would get a job with less control, they would go in to a league without connections to players, refs, etc... So basically you would need to spend decades to establish yourself as a top notch EL coach and then go to the NBA to be first on the list of coaches first to get sacked or to be someone's assistant. NBA simply isn't aware enough of EL or/and doesn't respect it enough to give some EL coach trust and backing needed to make that jump, and two leagues are too different for it to be a smooth transition.
