Bingo! It will absolutely be used as an opportunity to expand ad revenue.

I liked how the players couldn’t follow the arrows and kept missing the turn around the obstacle.

So many opportunities with it. $$$. Looks really cool. Huge initial expense but less expensive than multiple floors.

Lots of potential across so many sports. I'd love to see this in the podiums at the olympics

Possibly handy for people in faraway seats, who can barely see the action anyway

We will see in in the NBA in live game action at some point in the future. The issue is going to be with these teams that share with the NHL. The water leaks onto the floor with regular wood so what would happen with this? Also if someone hacks the court then what? There are a few unknowns that they have to figure out before they start using it for real games

You won't have shared stadiums if this gets installed.

Maybe the A’s need to look at an LED roof (inside)for LV stadium.

Still won't change the fact that NBA officiating has made the product garbage. Should call it NBFTA (Notning but Free Throws Association). Who wants to watch a super star shoot 10-20 free throws a game? Not me. Id rather watch horse at the local gym. Much more exciting. 😂

If they can track players to insert graphics, maybe it’s possible to help officiating. Was his foot on or behind the line, did he travel (senses more steps then dribble), was the force of charge accurate between players body weights (or was it just acting)?

Cool idea , but should be Used for All Star Weekend Only. Keep the Regular season and Playoffs the way it is.

you see no different too a regular wood floor.

I thought it was pretty cool... as long as it is not distracting for the players
@muratti72muc3 ай бұрын
you can distracting players easily but they don't do it. In Germany we play on this floor. You don't see if it's a wood or glass floor. You can do anything with LED technology. brighter, darker, very slow or fast changes, e.g. from a club logo or from advertising, etc. But only if you want it. If you're very close like the players, you don't notice a lot of this things.

It is a big no from me, completely over the top an not needed. I want to watch sports not go for this.
@markyoung224610 ай бұрын
No one is watching all star weekend anyway tbh lol
@muratti72muc3 ай бұрын
You don't see any difference between an LED glass floor and a wooden floor. Even the players don't notice any visual difference. Of course, if you want, you can do a lot with LED technology. It's just like an LED TV at home, only much larger.

Another factor. Many building have multiple events. This needs to be removed and assembled within an hour. . It also has to be durable enough for multiple installs a season .
@muratti72muc3 ай бұрын
It doesn't take much longer than laying a wooden floor with a substructure. The substructure panels are just a little thicker and heavier. The glass panels also weigh just a little more than the hardwood panels. If stored poorly, wood can become damp or dry out and then deform. That can't happen to you with glass.

It’s cool technology, but the league needs to be really careful that they don’t allow it to detract from the game. Otherwise it’s going to feel like NBA 2K come to life. A neon green court doesn’t exactly scream professional.

I don't think so. Basketball will be a cartoonish league.

It's bad enough in baseball where the strike zone is whatever Angel Hernandez says it is. Projected playing surface markings? Oh, holy crap!... 😂...The manipulation we can do with that!! We can shorten a free throw line by a smidge for the home team (or NBA darling team at the time), we can "adjust" the three point line to that same end, or, even alter it with AI after a controversial shot - "Was he, or wasn't he?"...You can't move paint. I suppose at some point it'll be made "movable"by AI retroscreening, but for now paint and wood has worked for a century. Oh yeah, and for the sake of "advertising" we can up the brilliance or flash that hot pink lemonade ad and blind the bad guys while they are shooting. So many use cases!... 😒...I'm not anti-technology by any means. But this is such a blatantly useful tool for future corruption of the game that it amazes me that nobody has brought it up. Since legalized sportsbooking, there have been some suspicious alterations of rules and game outcomes (and those overtime rules changes for the post-season in the NFL I include as an exemplar) that make me think the casinos are trying to tilt the games. Everything is run by "analytics", whether it makes common sense or not. I'm not, and never have been, a fan of the NHL shootout. Things that tilt the entire dynamics of a game once a different set of rules are applied. Personally, I would rather give out two different trophies to shared winners than to decide a game that was tied by playing an entirely different game. Now, this holographic court experience? Not for the NBA. Fire all the MLB umpires and have a holographics AI field, then I might bite on that one... 😏
