I’m late but you should do a breakdown of Jrue Holiday’s defense. I’m glad he’s finally getting the recognition he deserves on the defensive end. Well actually he has been for the past few seasons but still, as a guard and at his height, he’s one of the most versatile players in the league

Hey Coach Mike, I think this channel is great at discussing on-ball defense, but it could also benefit from analyzing a few defensive concepts in navigating screens, off-ball defense, and help defense techniques. Like the Marcus Smart video doesn't even mention how good Smart is at identifying plays and adjusting tactics to defend concepts. Or another thing to discuss is how should a defender keep both an eye on their man and the ball? What stance should someone take in such as situation, and after some rotations, what footwork enables a good close-out on a shooter? Or what is good positioning and hand placement for defending backdoor cuts and bumping down on the roll man? Or how can a help defender position themself on a 2-on-1 situation and still only give up a mediocre shot?

I'm sort of similar to Matisse Thybulle with my defense. I've always, despite coaches screaming at me, let the offense blow past me, and then either chase them down or heavily contest them, due to my wingspan being large, or just steal the ball from behind, the YMCA old man technique. The only thing I cannot do is rebound because I'm not large enough, just my arms are long enough to steal and block. I miss basketball now 😔

Amazing video, and it just show that the old heads who try to tell us that there is no contact/physicality anymore since the end of hand checking in the late 90´s are just ignorant. Kawhi, Kobe, Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan, Giannis, Tony Allen, Jrue Holidays … All these players had their prime in the late 2000´s to now, and you can clearly see all the contact, the guy with Kobe even said how you don’t get called for a foul and he just said « it’s too fast », yeah, it’s so fast that you don’t even realise how physical the NBA is todays. So the people saying Lebron wouldn’t survive the 90´s are funny, Kawhi is literally a mix of MJ and Pippen, Kevin Garnett, AD, Giannis and Ben Simmons are like 6´11 Pippen, Draymond is one of the smartest defender ever, Jrue is probably one of the strongest pound for pound player, Rajon Rondo is a freak of nature like Kawhi, he is only 6ft1 but with a 6ft9 wingspan and hands of a 7footer… If guys like Karl Malone, Charles Barkley or David Robinson could be MVP in the 90´s, averaging 29ppg for many seasons, how can you think Lebron wouldn’t do better ? He has literally the size and strength of Karl Malone, the speed and explosivity of Westbrook before 2015, he shot 40% from 3 in his prime and can shoot from anywhere and after 2015 he mastered the fadeaway and became the best passer of all time, he can make every type of passes you can think of except the elbow pass of white chocolate, but im sure he could do it … MJ himself said Lebron is better than Kobe, in 2005, Bill Walton said Lebron was an all time great, he was 20 years old ! And Steve kerr said he has never seen a better player than Lebron and MJ, they are both the best according to him. And if you still think he couldn’t handle the « physicality » of the 90´s even tough small and skinny guys like Iverson, Reggie Miller, Isaiah thomas, Gary Payton, John stockton or Steve Kerr himself could dominate, how the fuck a 6´9 250-270pounds freight train who can pass and shoot at an elite level couldn’t ? Just look at his series against the Celtics of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Rondo, his series against the Piston of Rasheed Wallace, Chris Webber, Tayshaun Prince and Chauncey Billups or the Raptors of Ibaka, Gasol, Siakam and Kyle lowry … These guys aren’t soft, there are tons of plays were you can see Lebron driving and them throwing elbow and slap in his head or pushing/grabbing him in the air but he is so strong that he could finish in most of these plays …

“He was despised and rejected- a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave. But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands. When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.” Isaiah 53:3-12 NLT "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 God loves you so much and showed that by sending His Son to die for us so that we may inherit eternal life. We deserve hell but He gave us heaven through faith in Jesus. He took the punishment we deserved and by putting our faith in Him we can be saved. God doesn’t want anybody in hell because He loves us, but you must understand why we deserve hell and why those who refuse to live under His authority will go there. He gave us the law (Ten Commandments) not to make us righteous, but rather to show us our sin (Romans 3:20). We’re not sinners because we sin, but rather we sin because we’re sinners. Sin is the nature of our flesh that we are born with due to the sin of Adam in the garden. For someone to be justified before God they have to be sinless. We’ve all sinned (Romans 3:23), and the the law demands death for those who sin (Romans 6:23). God is righteous, so He must punish our sin, which is what He did through His Son Jesus Christ on the cross. Jesus is Holy and sinless, yet He received our sin when He died on the cross, so that we can be righteous before God (2 Corinthians 5:21). When He died on the cross, He said “It is finished” (John 19:30), which means He paid the full price for all of your sins (past, present, and future) to be forgiven. He was buried and rose again from the dead. God will forgive anybody who puts their full trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. We aren’t saved based on our good deeds, but only by the grace of God (Ephesians 2:8-9). His precious blood that He shed is the only reason why we can be forgiven of our sins (Hebrews 9:22). If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised Him from the dead, then you’ll be saved (Romans 10:9). You are born-again with the Spirit of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), and are not only legally justified before God, but also are accredited His righteous (Romans 4:24). Believers live for Christ now, so get to know Him through His Word. I recommend reading the book of Romans and the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), and watching Pastor Joseph Prince’s online sermons!
