Surprised raymar didn’t talk about the board at all. Bartomeu ran the club into the ground with the way he ran it. Just want to make sure that Puyol gets the credit he deserves. My guy is a legendary defender, and the greatest club leader I’ve ever seen, only rivaled by Sergio Ramos. Puyol captained both the best club and national team, and that says something about how built different he was. Messi is admitted by pretty much everyone in Barca as the best baller ever, but he was usually surrounded by people with experience, who only expected him to perform, while he also has a relatively reserved personality. That is why Puyol was so crucial as a captain, and why Messi has cracked under pressure as Argentina captain before, at least as I understand it.

"Lionel Messi cannot come close to winning UCL without Xavi and Iniesta" is somewhat a misleading statement, because he carried that Barça 18/19 to that UCL semi-final against Liverpool, single-handedly, without Xavi or Iniesta on the team, whilst winning Ballon D'or, it's not his fault the squad didn't deliver on defense or attack for that matter. Also about Messi not being a leader, is one of the biggest myths in football, just because of his introverted nature, media likes to paint it like he doesn't care about the teams he plays, yet his team-mates at Argentina admitted to have cried and state that they were ready to go at war for him. (Check Emiliano Martinez and other Argentina's players interviews about the Copa America Final). He also cut his salary in half and wanted to play the last years of his career for a Barça that wasn't even at the phase of rebuild yet. But since he's not shouting in front of the cameras and pushing his coach, I guess that makes him less of a captain or leader. Raymar is a great channel, but this video seems to be pushing a lot of fake narratives, whilst not including the biggest component of the Barça downfall, the upper-management, who resigned and are now in custody for mismanagement and defamation against the club players, whilst sending the club to the biggest economic crisis in their history.

3:29 There's a few factors as to why they didn't at least win 2 or 3 is because the core of their team was starting to age out by 2015 (Xavi was 35 and due to leave Barca and play in the in Qatar league. Iniesta was 31/32 and was slowly declining and eventually left and went to Japan) and the following year they were narrowly knocked out by Atlético Madrid 3-2 on agg (Barca won the 1st leg 2-1 then in the 2nd leg they lost 2-0) then the following season they went out to Juventus (3-0 Juve 1st game and 0-0 the 2nd game) then Neymar left that same year to join PSG so MSN was quite short lived. (2014-2017) Unless you're Real Madrid when they had Ronaldo at his peak its very hard to win/retain the CL. Plus Barca aren't the most mentally strong team and crumbled against teams they should have beaten quite easily like Roma after winning the 1st leg 4-1, then panicking and lose the 2nd leg 3-0 and then Liverpool after being 3-0 up (Should have been 4-0 game dead and buried if Ousmane Dembele had put an easy chance away in the 90th min)

So let's break down everything Raymar says about Messi after 15:30 15:32 I'm sure Barcelona fans could agree with this: Messi lacks leadership and an unwavering attitude. I'm a Barça fan and I couldn't disagree more. Messi has carried weak Argentina and Barcelona sides for years now on the pitch, motivated them on and off the pitch and always went ahead as the captain. It's not because he has an introvert personality that he can't be a leader. 16:05 Here Raymar describes exactly what Messi was doing at halftime in the Liverpool game: Talk to his team mates and say they had to forget about Roma and try to make up for it together. 16:19 Everything from here is just a perfect description of Ronaldo, when things don't go the way he wants. Messi rarely shows his frustrations to his team mates because it might affect them in a bad way. 16:52 Raymar thinking you have to be a vocal person (= screaming and shouting) to be a good leader.

In my opinion, a big reason why they only won one Champions League title during this era was Messi and their dependency on him. Their entire offense revolved around him and when he missed a game or just had a bad day, their entire system didn't work properly and they struggled. In La Liga, this wasn't too big of a problem, because even with a few losses you're still in contention and they didn't play top tier teams every weak, so even without Messi they were able to win games, even if the didn't play the most beautiful football. But in the Champions League knock out stage, if Messi missed a game or their elite opponents managed to take him out of the game with their defense, Barca got eliminated. Ronaldo on the other hand was clearly Madrids best player, but they didn't build their entire system around him. If CR7 was out, other players were able to fill his role to a certain extent and their system didn't completely collapse without him

The claims that Messi isn't a good leader have been totally debunked. All you have to do is watch what happened as soon as the ref blew the final whistle at the 2021 Copa America. Every single Argentina player RAN straight to Messi to celebrate. That wouldn't happen to someone who "isn't a leader". I personally haven't seen any team do that for any other player. Not even Ronaldo.

Noone says Messi is bad he just isn't good as a leader, it's nothing wrong with that anyone can get the captain place but Messi is not it , for example ronaldo is not good to just dribble the entire opponent team (I'm a ronaldo fan) but Messi can do that, all players have 1 bad thing you can't change it

Bartomeu (Then Barca President) changed La Masia and the talent dropped. The club abandoned its DNA and instead of producing world class talent, then bought their talent for big money and no real payoff. Barcelona's motto ironically is Mes Que Un Club (More Than a Club). They're now...just another Club.

Whats funny is that Barcelona is over 100 years old but their prime only lasted 10 years, from 2005-2015. Before that barcelona was just an average team. Unlike liverpool, ac milan, bayern munich, Real madrid, and Man U clubs that has made history in the world of football since the ice age.

Just like Ronaldo hasn't gone close to winning a champions league since he left Real Madrid, so you can say the same thing about him...stop hating, football is a team sport, one player can't just carry an entire team to a trophy. The Champions league being a knock out tournament in the knock out stages (albeit with two legs per game until the final) it’s really rare for anyone to win back to back. We always used to get a different winner every year. What Real Madrid did recently to win 3 in a row was ridiculous.
