I'm from London, England, I've supported Arsenal since I was 6 (I'm 37 now) & live about 20 minutes away from where The Emirates & Highbury stadiums are located. This video was a nice trip down memory lane I can't lie, got to experience some great moments supporting my club. The Champions League final.....that game still hurts to this day. We were no more than 15 minutes away from winning when Barcelona equalised.....we were so close.

It was worth winning at the time, but once the Champions League expanded to include 2nd, 3rd and 4th place teams most of the best cup winning teams qualified for that instead and CWC lost its lustre. It was discontinued around 2002 or so I'm pretty sure.

The Uefa cup is the Europa league, and the cup winners cup doesn't exist any more, but it didn't really matter anyway, You were right about the European Cup being the champions league. And Henry didn't really pull a KD, the club had started going into decline and he stayed another year after the final because he was desperate to win it with Arsenal (everyone had been expecting him to leave that summer), their fans were always grateful to him for staying as long as he did. Maybe look at the Alex Ferguson years next, easily the most dominant storyline of the premier league so far

Tbf the European cup winners cup was closer to the being the Europa leage in terms of prestige, being the second tier European competition at the time. After a while they consolidated it into the Uefa cup which would later become the europa. Before then no one really cared about the Uefa Cup.

I'm an Arsenal fan who has only ever gotten to see the invincibles and the champions league final through footage (I was born in 2004). Despite that, Henry is my favourite player of all-time and Wenger is my favourite manager. It's crazy to think Wenger started managing Arsenal years before I was even born, and left the club when I was already in High School. A true legend.

Thierry actually joined Barcelona a year after they loss. It wasn't the same Barca anymore since the team was in turmoil. Also check the channel out more. Wright joining west ham was a good move... West ham had the likes of Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand, Paulo Di canio (check him out btw) Trevor Sinclair, Micheal Carrick, Joe cole, Paul Kitson, and a few others. European Cup ----> Champions League Uefa Cup ------------> Europa League Cup Winners Cup was discontinued in 1999 Arsenal won this European Cup was originally the league winners and the CWC was the winners of each country's cup like the FA cup, Copa del Rey, DFB Pokal etc. The Uefa cup was the league runners-up. When the UCL was rebranded in the 90s it was expanded to more teams from each country, destroying the balance, but also eliminating a reason for a cup winners tournament since chances are clubs that were winning cups would be in the top league spots, so they were playing in the UCL instead of the CWC. It does suck though since a lot of obscure teams have won cups, teams not in top flights in some cases, but there is no longer a European competition for them to enter.
