Bontemps was absolutely spot on regarding Kyrie here. He’s copping a lot of flack here but the way McMahon sugar coated the Kyrie press conference was amusing.

Kyrie moves to Boston. Bontemps: And I took that personally
@hookmasterL
@hookmasterL 5 ай бұрын
Not true. Bontemps says clearly it was the context of the move, what Kyrie Irving did prior to the move. Kyrie Irving is well known for spinning narratives and Bontemps says spin all you want, but here’s what actually happened. And he methodically dissects. They say you reap what you sow, and tonight, one of the NBA’s legendary fan bases will reap Kyrie Irving exactly what he has sown.

It is not fair to say Boston is the one who maximized Porzingis post ups. Kristaps Porzingis was an amazing post up player last year. I think he was top 3 in post up point per possession in the entire NBA

Here for Windy's unbiased take on this series and to find out who in his family Luka killed. Windy clearly wouldn't want the Mavericks to comeback because that would mean Lebron's 3-1 comeback wouldn't be a feather LeBron could hang on his GOAT status claims cap. Windy wrote a whole book about it. He feels Luka is a threat to LeBron 's positioning on the all-time greats list . A stain on his career and moving the goalposts to can't win a finals? He deserved criticism but that personal vendetta (and possibly Rich Paul) fueled and unhinged attempted takedown of Luka is a stain on Windy's career and credibility.

35:55 With a guy as injured as Luka is it seems a tad over the top to be complaining about his defense. I mean especially talking about Blowby%…when you consider this guy is probably at 65% most nights it’s a little overly critical to complain about these things.

It’s obvious he’s having Knee (probably miniscus) issues. I’m sure the Ankles are shot and the calves along with it. Not to mention it has appeared obvious to me from his lateral lethargy, that he’s got real issues in his hip flexors. I hope the Mavs training staff will address this sooner rather than later.
@kalebduggar4251
@kalebduggar4251 5 ай бұрын
To me this accentuates the differences Luka and the Mavs couldn’t get past with Porzingis. Luka has that Larry Bird “I’ma die on the court” kind of mentality. while Zingis has the new age lebronesque I won’t risk my career to win the finals. (Granted in this case the Celtics don’t really need him it would seem.) That to me is why Luka never respected him, and why the mavs ultimately had to trade him.

This is why I think Kyrie has been in his own head for most of this series. I haven’t been able to watch game 4 yet, but Kyrie getting 12-16 in this series shows he’s lacking that other worldly confidence we know him for. I hope to see him get back to that. Maybe he’ll fast until game 5 and he’ll play with that ramadan energy. 37:07

If youre not a boston local, dont speak on how we feel about kyrie. we welcomed him with open arms and the fact his dad played here, we hoped for a beautiful marriage. Kyrie wanted the praise of being the guy but when it did not work out, he did not want the criticism. And we would all do the IT trade for him 100/100 because of talented he is. You cant just forget the actions and promises he made. Dallas is just in the honeymoon phase with Kyrie, we will see how it ends with his time there. And Dallas would 100% do the deal they made for him too. Never regret acquiring such a talent like him - wish it didnt end the way it did

1- Stevens deserves credit for making sure Mazula had first tier assistants (especially Sam Cassel) because they knew that Mazula had been thrust into the role a few years early ( which is not a knock on JM as he is good) 2- Not a Kyrie fan but until last year many GMs loved his skill set but were wary of his selfish behavior ( and his self declared genius) . Having had a good regular season and the success in the early playoff rounds , there are going to be some GMs who get fooled into thinking he has matured ( remember that story line for 2 weeks ago). I have no faith that he can be a good team player for 2 consecutive years. Now is the time of Dallas to sell high because they can likely get 2 solid players and a draft pick from some foolish GM who thinks Kyrie has changed

If the conversation is about kyrie and someone is mad he left after saying he wanted to stay. No. Just no. Everything else you have to say isn't worth listening to. Dude on here is to emotional about kyrie to have a real conversation. The team, the coaches, the front office, and the massive majority of the fan base did not want him there anymore. Obviously, he's gonna leave. Let's not pretend that wasn't a fact, and we can see how everyone crying about that is just searching for more reasons to upset like an ex lover.
