ROLANDO BLACKMAN WAS A GREAT PLAYER. *VERY UNDERRATED TOO.*

Sickening that he isn't in, Walter Davis just got in right after passing. And Chauncey Billups got in. Somebody pulling strings for that cat.

Before Dirk Nowitzki, Rolando Blackman was THE face of the Mavericks franchise during the latter part of the 80s. One of the most underrated players of his era, too. Gave my Lakers some real battles during that time period, whew...

I thought it was Sam Perkins?

Nah, Perkins was a pretty good role player though...but Blackman was the one who really started to put Dallas on the basketball map the moment he got drafted by them way back when. Mark Aguirre does get an honorable mention, however! Almost forgot about him, mainly because he finally won a championship with the Bad Boy Pistons after he got traded to the Motor City...

PeekaPeep true that you definitely know your shit did you think Blackman looked like a darker puff daddy lol

+PeekaPeep I would have to add Derek Harper as well. For me, he was one of the most underrated players of those late 80s and early 90s. The Blackman/Harper duo was considered the best starting backcourt for awhile. Harper also played exceptionally well for the Knicks in their bid for the '94 title.

G Ryen You'll get no argument from me on that end! Btw, just how good was that 1987-'88 Mavs squad? Felt that one could've made the Finals that season. I know they were the ones who pushed the Lakers to the brink during that grueling playoff run...

play in the nba during the 80's was fast and free flowing. it was beautiful to watch. now we get to see guys dribble the ball for 20 seconds, clang 20 free throws in one game, and miss wide open shots over and over again....

if you wanna take about complete variation going from the showtime 80's to the gritty physical 90's was that...you pretty much described the mid 90's thru early 00's when iso ball and slowed down style was prime... its a lot more fast break team ball now a days breh...stretching the floor has become the goal, unfortunately the traditional bigman mostly Center's has suffered...

Nice scuffle there with Earvin and Donaldson and you can always count on Cooper to be in the middle. For the most part these teams never had any beefs. It’s the western conference.

3:40 Magic to Worthy underneath. They ran that play for years. Before Worthy it was Wilkes as the recipient. It only worked because Magic could really deliver the ball over the top and in a hurry. He’d just lull everyone with the dribble then whip it past everyone’s heads. Worthy with the big hands would always catch it.

Mike Smrek is on the floor so this is the 1987 season not the 1986 season. Those were some tough Dallas teams!
