MikeyB... BRUH... I thoroughly enjoy your reviews and points of view because frankly, yours is some of the very few RATIONAL views left on KZbin. Most seem to use a review platform as a means to sound off about grossly exaggerated and/or just flat-out inaccurate, petty nitpicks... but YOU sir, do not. I appreciate that very much. Just put mine together a few hours ago after sitting brand new in the box from Best Buy for 18 months (long story…LOL). 3 out of 5 stars thus far. Game play is like I remember for the most part as a teenager. Didn’t play but one game, and haven’t really read any instructions on the game play. Seemed as though there was a countdown timer that rushed me to pick my team….🤔. Very annoying. Don’t know if it can be turned off or not. Also wondering if there’s a way to play a single player game on any of the controls, and not just Player 1 (hate being on the edge). My BIGGEST GRIPE, the 2 screws closet to the bottom for the controller pad WON’T screw in!!!! Highly disappointed as I feel the Best Buy in Bridgeton,MO (U.S.) sold me a defective unit. I now will have to go to the hardware store and hopefully find some longer screws that will catch. Pretty ridiculous to have to battle something as trivial as this. I’ll have to give it more time to see if it grows on me. My first and only 1up purchase thus far.

I know the original reason the MK characters were removed from later versions of Jam TE is because the NBA wanted to distance themselves from the controversy surrounding those games. I do wonder if that's still the reason, of if Code Mystics/Warner/Arcade 1Up just felt it was best to go with the latest update of the game that was put in arcades. (Though as a fan of preservation, I do wish things like this included at least all of the public versions.)

I would say they went with the latest just to make sure all the bugs were taken out...too bad people really would have dug them in the game

Nice review. I was never into Sports (Although I liked going Skiing, Swimming, Dodgeball, Curling, Beyblade and Scooter Hockey) but My kid bro got this game in the 90s on Sega and now its in my collection. I got TE and was thinking of playing it but It seems to take several hours to get from start to end.

I don't personally care for the looks, but I do like NBA Jam, and the free online multiplayer is awesome. I hope to see that feature on future cabinets I might be more interested in, because if that were on the Turtles cabinet I'd own it already.

I like the cabinet but I would stick the emulator they have more you can handle and I know the speakers don't even get that loud on the cabs so I'll just stick to my arcade hook up to my computer

I noticed you framed your movie posters. Not necessary, but they look good. I have 32 movie posters on the walls of my Arcade. There's no way I would frame all of them. Too expensive. I would much rather buy one or two more arcade cabinets with the money lol.

Hey Navy Vet, I was wondering if you could tell me more about your experience with the original game. Did your players seem hard to control sometimes? Were you often misjudging the distance between you and the other players or the basket and therefore running past them or not ending up close at all? Did your player number (what some people call the carrot over your head) disappear sometimes? Thanks for any input you can provide.

Spooker Red Menace when I was a kid, wwf superstars was the second arcade I saw after elevator action at a grocery store. It was the first game I saw that talked. I always remember million dollar man say something like I’ll put you to sleep with my million dollar dream.
