Hi, to answer the question you posed at 10:33, if you join a game in progress, it doesn't count to your record because you didn't enter your record ID (initials and birthday). The only games that count to your record are ones where you entered your record ID during the pre-game screens.

17in screen is just too small for my money. They should have made it possible for easy replacement of the screen for a bigger screen. 24inch seems perfect size. The leftest and right most player will be pissed off trying to view from those angle on that small screen. NBA Jam is one of a handful of fav games. Just cant buy it for 399 or 499 with that small screen.

My only problem with the cabinet is that the screen is so small for this type of game. I have the game on playstation 3 which I have hooked up to a big screen tv which is super awesome and 4 players have ample room to play without being cramped. Plus I can still play online. The cabinet art looks really good though. I may get one when they go on sale and put it in my stepson' room while keeping the ps3 one with the big tv in our gane room. He's crazy about nba jam. Good review as uusual.

Thanks for the review. A couple of years ago, I suggested to A1up (back when they had the nice customer support), they come out with an edge-lit plex you could place in front of the wooden marquee, to light it. Nice to see the concept worked, at least for the deck protector.

Hardwire internet over your power line: amzn.to/3hLbK6t These last forever so I recommend going for gigabit to future proof it as your internet speed increases. That's also faster than micro USB so this won't be a constraint when hardwiring your NBA Jam

I got my NBA JAM $499 variant via GameStop. I have three complaints. 1 ) the screws that hold deck protector. I wish the screws were flathead and flush on the protector. To prevent injury. 2 ) where's the trivia questions for NBA Hangtime? 3 ) probably licensing issue, but I prefer NBA Shomtime NBA on NBC. It's the presentation of the game is better. A bonus complaint...should had added MK kharacters to rosters as a cheat

500 dollars is not for the standalone cab. The stool cost 80 bucks by its self. The light up marquee us what 30 bucks and the light up led strip on the control deck is 25 bucks. The riser is what 30 bucks. So actually the cab stand alone is around 300 to 350.

I'm sure they're going to start selling replacement boards for all the cabinets with WIFI and online play enabled, if mine had it I wouldn't be so quick to mod it but I'm tired of getting my ass kicked by the CPU. It's hard to have friends come over to play when they're all married with kids... plus the "you know what" issue.

did you confirm the wiring is properly connected inside the control panel? Otherwise, may need a new pcb (it's unlikely the button at fault since it's two different buttons)

Entirely your preference since both square or octo will work great. I like octo on fighting cabs myself and square for other 8 way game types but that’s just me!

Yeah if you like a heavier spring (which I do) but that’s not really an authenticity issue since Sanwa comes stock at only .9 lb

Being able to quit without a loss will totally break the online community and gameplay. EA Sports games had this problem 10 years ago and being able to finish a game online became almost impossible. People would rage quit nonstop. I remember playing 10 games in a row at times before finally playing someone purist enough to finish. Knowing the company’s shoddy quality control and customer service, I don’t see them fixing any problems anytime soon. I just got my Pac-Man $500 dollar cabinet and it came with wires literally cut from the LCD to the PCB. Returned it to Best Buy today for an exchange. Sad to say this will probably be my final product from them unless something amazing happens with their quality control. Still crappy risers and controls, just milking profit while providing subpar quality and support. I probably sound like a hater, haha. But this is my 3rd product with issues. So 0/3. Id feel like a fool to buy from them again.

The biggest problem I’ve had with the cabinet is the WiFi doesn’t seem to work for me. It shows connected after i selected my WiFi and entered the password but i cant go back to the screen when i hit the live button. I cant even create an account anymore. Don’t know what’s going on but i honestly don’t care too much about it since i really bought the cab to play with friends when they come over.

Great video man! Now all I can see is the double NBA Jam logo. This is a really good point and It didn’t really bother me till you brought it up. If the risers are going to continue to be integrated into these bundles, I think they do need to ensure they flow nice with the rest of the cabinet. Awesome point man... My brother got his NBA JAM cabinet from Best Buy yesterday. While he was at work I put it together and played it for about an hour. It's better than i thought. PPl talk smack about the light up deck protector but i think its a good touch, how the graphics are printed on top of the plastic and the edges seem to glow. My bro love it. I also ordered the best buy $500 version but mine dont ship for another seven days. I am going back over his house to play it more. Didnt check out the online play since it wasnt my cab. Other than the lame faceplate and the division of the riser/machine decals i give it 2 thumbs up🖒😎👍

Bat tops are terrible . Trying playing Frogger on a battop and then try it on a ball top . Night and day difference . Japanese use ball top and they know what their doing.
