Did you just rename the rom to "nbajamtr" in order to get it to work in MAME 2003plus?

@@coreyalexander9059 you may have to rename the rom files inside as well. Its been awhile, I do not remember if retropie will scrape the game if rom files are named incorrectly but having the correct hash or not.

Just to confirm...are you able to play this rom as a head-to-head 2-Player game on your retropie cabinet? I have the rom, and I can get it to play in Mame and RetroArch, but only as a 1-Player game. Just wanted to double check before I an existing arcade1up cabinet. Thanks in advance...

Running a raspberry pi 4 and I’ve renamed the file nbajamre but I’m getting the error rom set unknown on fbneo, any ideas?

What file did you rename? You've got to rename the rom with the patch added... not the original nba jam rom.

I got mine working on FB Neo on my pi-cade. Does anyone know how I can get into the settings in-game to adjust my bottom mapping? Normally with all my other games I hit tab, and go into retroarch to adjust the mapping. I can't figure it out.

Yes, the video tells you exactly how to do it. Unfortunately, it has to be the ROM version listed in the video. You'll have to search the web for the ROM and download the patch files. So far, this is the only way to do it.

Were you able to get the optional voice change for “Get that bleep outta here”? When I try to patch those four files within the zip, fbneo doesn’t like the CRC

on fbneo, the patched swearing rom goes in the patched folder and the regular rewind rom goes in your roms folder.

Can what you did be done on an Arcade1up NBA Jam cabinet? Also, I've asked all over and no one knows how to do this. Is there a way to access the Arcade1up NBA Jam PCB if you plug it into a computer? I ask because I have an extra PCB that was sent to me that's brand new. I really want these things. NBA Hangtime: the original rosters, NBA Jam Tournament Edition: everything you have done to your arcade cab; Jordan, Shaq, Breaking backboard, MK players and others that were removed after version 2, etc. Lastly the full rosters on NBA Jam. I actually only play Hangtime so if you could do anything with that or even better put the MK players, Jordan, Shaq on Hangtime man I would pay for that.

Anything CAN be done. It's all about the know how. You would need the ability to mod the source code if you want to do this on the original Arcade 1Up board. I am not a coder by any means, so I would assume it would be extremely difficult to do. You could do it very easily by modding the cab with a Raspberry Pi. The only thing you lose is the ability to play PvP online, but you gain so much with that loss. A neighbor of mine has the factory NBA JAM cab and we both prefer my modded cab. We can play both NBA JAM arcade versions, the version with the Mortal Kombat characters, both Hangtime versions, Showtime: NBA on NBC Dreamcast version, plus modded versions of the console games as well. I grew up playing the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo versions.

Do a search for ETA Prime. He has a video showing you how to mod cabs. I followed his nearly identically. I did not use an audio amp for my speaker. The video converter board already has one. I also bought and applied a vinyl NBA JAM Arcade 1UP cabinet graphics kit from eBay and a light up marquee from Angel Otero (This Ability Upgrades). Detroit Love is where I look for all of my software advice. I have a degree in Computer Science and electronics experience, but I learned most of my Arcade 1UP modding from those three.

The 2.1 version is the hardest one to find. I haven't tried to patch to the 2.0 version, but I have doubts it will work.

I'll try to locate it, but I was able to find a link for the 2.1 version, the patch files, and the new rom already patched in one zip file just a few days ago. It's out there. I just don't remember where I found it off the top of my head.
